Hi all. Just moved here on Friday and have quite a few questions. Maybe you can help out.
1. Looking for a vet recommendations for my dog.
2. Look for pediatrician...
Jeff M. replied:
I've been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. King over at Westside Veterinary hospital for over 2 decades. Reasonably priced very compassionate care for your animals. The facility itself is nothing fancy, but Dr. King is the best. Bellemeade Shopping Center, 1155 Powder Springs St, Marietta, GA 30064 (770) 427-0033
Michele M. replied:
I love Dr. King at Westside Vet. No wait, low cost and he and his staff are very good with my fur baby.
Melissa H. replied:
I secind Dr. Abrams in Norcross worth the drive
Laura E. replied:
Dr. Banner at Greater Atlanta Veternarian is wonderful. We have seen her for years. She even saw us between surgeries last week for my sick pup! Small and personal vet clinic, which we like.
Carol W. replied:
The Ark Animal Hospital, Dr. Jeff Bowan is the best. On Highway 278 Dallas/Hiram 770-943-9820. Also has grooming and boarding.
Melissa H. replied:
Dr. Abrams is private practice no other doc
Adrean G. replied:
Kayla Riesenberg I go to Dr Strauss. He has been seeing my boys since they were born.
Roxane G. replied:
Kennesaw Pediatrics, excellent group of doctors who support all that you named. They never even blinked when I had a homebirth and do not just treat with antibiotics with every sniffle.
Jennifer P. replied:
Dallas Highway Animal Hospital is great... Powder Springs Animal clinic does a 50% off vaccination special every June! Pediatrician- we use and love Cobb Pediatrics! I know a few good pet sitters as well! There is a childrens consignment in Powder Springs as well as in Douglasville... not sure how far you want to go...
Anastasia B. replied:
Kayla, welcome. 1 st what part of town are you in? How old is you toddler? You can use the search feature and look for my name, I posted a document a few weeks ago about all the activities. We use Cobb Pediatric Associates which is in Austell because we moved from Smyrna and we liked our doctor.
Linzy D. replied:
East Cobb Pediatrics. They have an office in Kennesaw. They have walk in hours for established patients, and are very helpful and understanding with delayed vaccines. I left Kennestone for this office and haven't looked back once. Good luck and Welcome!
Elizabeth H. replied:
We love Cumberland Animal Clinic for all of our animals ❤️ They have been incredible while we have gone through some tough stuff with our cat. Any of the four vets are great.
Michael B. replied:
Dr Ashley at the veterinary clinic 533 Roswell has been good experience for my dog. Nice folks there too.
Katy R. replied:
Vet: We love everyone at The Veterinary Clinic....both of their locations. And having two locations it convenient when you need that last minute appointment! Everyone at their office knows and loves my beasts (2 dogs, 2 cats) and they've always given us the best care. Pediatrician: we use Cobb Pediatrics but I've only ever had to take my daughter there for well-checks so I don't know much about them outside of my experience with those particular visits. I'm not passionately in love with the practice but I've never been displease with anything other than the wait time, which is kinda the norm in pediatric waiting rooms. Activities: my daughter is older now but when we moved out to Cobb, I got her enrolled in the cute little ballet classes at GA Dance Conservatory (on the square). She gets a good 45-60 minute class, you get that time to socialize with the other moms and then it's a mass exodus to go get ice cream or pizza and play on the train.
Adrean G. replied:
Pediatrician: Kennesaw Pediatrics is the best. All my kids go there and have been going there for the past 4 yrs. I love that place soooo much. The doctors are amazing, attentive, and very nice. The office staff are super polite as well.
Sarah G. replied:
Dr. Abrams is very respectful of parents wishes but he's in Norcross.
Alexa B. replied:
Dr. Jordan at Town and Country West is amazing. Tadpoles is another children's consignment shop near Town Center mall.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pediatrician?
Courtney W. replied:
Are you talking about Dr Avril Beckford? My friend Kelly goes there also and really likes her.
Beth R. replied:

Jennifer W. replied:
Kennesaw Pediatrics. They take non- vaxing and modified vaxing patients.
Laurel M. replied:
Kennesaw Pediatrics is awesome! Just make sure you get all of your questions answered when trying to find a doc! (I didn't and then had to find a new one with a two month old!)

Today we've decided to do an experiment… we've had an inquiry on recommendations for pediatricians around Smyrna/Vinings. We don't usually solicit feedback on these...
Emily W. replied:
Wellstar Pediatrics is the best and only choice! Dr. Combes, Mathews, Heinz and others are the best in Smyrna. Every family in our neighborhood goes there.

Dr. Hines at Wellstar Pediatrics on S. Cobb is fantastic.
Stacey W. replied:
This may be far, but I drive my kids to Piedmont Pediatrics. Dr Koenig and Bramwell are FABULOUS!

WellStar Pediatrics at S Cobb...we've seen many of the doctors there...love them all...Dr. Boekhaus is our dr, but they are all great. Wait times are short and even the receptionists are nice. We changed to this office after multiple bad experiences at Peachtree Park Peds.
Missi T. replied:
All the doctors at Wellstar Pediatrics and Adolescent Center on SCD across from Krispy Creme are stellar!! Dr Boekhaus, Dr Wolfe and Dr Beckford in particular.
Diane O. replied:
Dr. Rogena Miller at WellStar Smyrna on Concord Road. We used to see Dr. Crystal White when she was at that practice, too, and agree she is a great doctor. Her new practice sounds like a good option, too.
Anyone remember the pediatrician Dr. Sandburg and Dr. Mainor in Smyrna?
Julie S. replied:
Ms. Dixon was my Cheerleading coach!
David G. replied:
Dr. Mainor was our family Dr. for many many years. I remember him making house calls. When I busted my leg up, he propped me up and let me watch him sew it back up.
Julie S. replied:
Dr. Sandburg was my pediatrician and I even took my oldest to him after he was born in 1989! I was very sorry to see him retire! He was an incredible pediatrician! Very ahead of his time on beliefs and practices!
Joel C. replied:
My whole family went to Dr. Mainor. Said he'd give you a shot and you would be better the next day. I went to Dr. Sandburg for years! I'll never forget the pink elephant. Also, he believed in prescribing Naldecon!
Katherine M. replied:
Dr Sandburg was my Dr as a Child, Loved him! When my niece was born in 1985 he was the dr on call, I couldn't believe it!
