VTX Cafe friends, I have tried searching for a thread I read about someone who modified their exhaust to run on both sides of the bike. Is anyone familiar with this?...
NJ cool collection (#1) - Restaurants Hi fellow NJ’iens,
How about we help each other discover the nuggets of our states?
I thought we would have a couple of these...

Hot Dog Johnnys. Hot dogs and only hot dogs. Located in the inestimably named Buttzville, NJ it's been there since the 1940 s. Routinely packed on weekends.

Would have to say Spirito’s in Elizabeth in terms of an institution for Italian food. Their pizza is my a favorite in all of the world. I may be a bit biased because my grandma worked there in her 30 s, but it really is so so good. Also great ravioli and veal parm!

Laico's in Jersey City - a hidden gem and tough to find but I think it is some of the best Italian food at reasonable pricing.

In Millburn, there’s an Italian spot called, Trattoria Gian Marco. A little gem that’s Been around for 20 years!
the-camster replied:
i'm not a fan but Kinchely's in Ramsey. They have been there since 1789 and they invented Pizza or something.
Funkit replied:
Joe Leone’s in point beach. Not a restaurant but a Italian market/bakery/deli, but you’ll get the freshest sandwiches ever there.

Kitchen 87 in Mount Holly. Amazing breakfast and lunch with unique specials to keep you coming back.

I run a Central NJ based food blog called CougEats, but based on the specifications OP provided: Luca's Ristorante - Somerset, NJ Da Fillipo's - Somerville, NJ Clinton Bagel Company - Clinton, NJ Ye Olde Sub Base - Clinton, NJ Citispot - Clinton, NJ (this is more famous, but I think Riverside across the street is better overall)

The Country Pancake House in Ridgewood has hands down the best breakfast anywhere. Huge portions, the food is always amazing, and it's all super cheap. There's always a line out the door on Saturday and Sunday mornings as it's a super popular brunch spot. The restaurant has been in the same family for over 40 years.
Then I would have to say Pizza Town USA in Elmwood Park is my favorite pizza place in North Jersey. The exterior isn't really that impressive (I used to drive past it every day and never thought to stop inside), but the pizza and their zeppole are ridiculously good and the place is always busy. They've been run by the same family for 60 years.
Just a heads up - both places are cash only!!
WhatIsTickyTacky replied:
Stan’s Chitch’s Cafe in Bound Brook makes excellent no frills bar pies with super thin crusts. Good place for a pie and pitcher of beer. Cash only. It’s been there for decades.
Spectrum2081 replied:
Sally Lunn's in Chester, NJ. It's a British tea place with incredible cottage pie, adorable little tea sandwiches and seriously the best "scones" ever (secret recipe). They are more biscuit than scone. So, so good. Open on very early hours though.
no_cheese_plz replied:
Dos Amigos in West New York. Best Steak Sandwich, get it with everything cheese and onions. Cash Only. Sitting in the dining room is like traveling back to 1994
morbidmortician replied:
The Mug Rack in Jackson is always been a fan favorite of my families. Place is always packed on the weekends. Good prices, great breakfast. Staff is always super friendly.
RIP_Wrex replied:
Bamboo Leaf in Bradley Beach has some of the best chicken pad Thai, and Thai food in general, that I've had recently. The only place that I can think of that does it better is Thai House Rock in Woodbridge, but for some reason they've been closed for the past few weeks.

Sushi Sakura Bana in Ridgewood. Owned and operated by the same Japanese people since forever. Tawara in Ramsey. Johnny Rollhouse. Across from the Montvale train station. He's from Nobu in NYC.

**Seafood**: [Morgan's Fish Market Restaurant](https://www.yelp.com/biz/morgan-fish-market-and-restaurant-jersey-city) (Jersey City, NJ) Absolutely delicious Mediterranean style seafood. Try the grilled branzino with olive oil & lemon, grilled and fried shrimp, and assortments of diced salads and dips. Top it off with their rice pudding.
**Pho** : [Pho Today](https://www.yelp.com/biz/pho-today-bridgewater-bridgewater) (Bridgewater, NJ) Best Pho I've had (been to many). Broth is on point, shrimp summer rolls wrapped in sugar cane wrap are like heaven in your mouth.
**Falafel**: [Mamouns](https://www.yelp.com/biz/mamouns-falafel-restaurant-hoboken) (Hoboken, NJ) There's a reason why this place is always packed as well as its other locations too. Everything from falafels to lamb kebabs are to die for. Fresh veggies and juicy meats, mixed in with flavorful spices, are their perfect combo.
**Italian**: [Jozannas](http://www.jozannas.com/) (Middlesex, NJ) I get it, Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen and everyone has their absolute bests. Jozanna's food is no exception. Definitely prepared with pride and the tastes are very exciting to the palates. It's one of those places that are always packed for a reason.
**Turkish**: I can't recommend a single one because there are so many good ones. I would suggest [taking a tour in Bergen County, NJ](https://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=turkish&find_loc=Bergen+County%2C+NJ) and have at it. Would be pretty hard to find one that doesn't live up to expectations.
**Steak**: This is also another one where they are a dime a dozen. So while there are a few good ones to list, I would say [Steakhouse 85](https://www.steakhouse85.com/) (New Brunswick, NJ) for high end steaks. And for the somewhat budget minded [Texas RoadHouse](https://www.texasroadhouse.com/)
**Vegetarian**: [Chand Palace](http://www.chandpalacerestaurant.com/) (Piscataway, NJ) As a person who must have meat everyday, I was hesitant when a bunch of Indian (Hindu mainly) co-workers invited me to a vegetarian restaurant. Boy was I wrong to be skeptical of not having meat that day! The amount of flavors and spices that flowed through my mouth and filled my stomach, had me seriously never to doubt a vegetarian only restaurant. I had so many things that I tried, I can't remember which ones I liked the most.
**Sushi**: [Honshu](http://www.honshulounge.com/portfolio) (Exchange Place, Jersey City, NJ) Definitely recommend the Spicy Tuna Tartar in conjunction with whatever Sushi satisfies you.
**Breakfast**:[The Turning Point](https://theturningpoint.biz/holmdel/) (Holmdel, NJ) Breakfast and lunch only restaurant that has the best omelettes, shakes and French pressed coffee!
I probably can recommend some more places, but this is what I can list off of the top of my head.

Krug's Tavern in the Ironbound district of Newark has the best no frills burgers I've ever had. Tiny little spot that's been around 80+ years or so. Makes all the burgers on the same little grill top behind the bar all these years.

White Manna in Hackensack, sliders with onions. Totally worth the wait and tiny space.

Jims lunch in millville! Owned by the same family since the 1920 s I believe. Burgers are a little on the smaller side, but they are amazing.

Gronski's Milkhouse in High Bridge is the best for breakfast, hands down. Best pancakes I have ever eaten. Plus they have a special pancake of the month.
