Good chiropractors in/near Kingston Hi everyone. I've been having some back pain for about a month now that my massage therapist and my Dr have not been able to help...
juelzsanpana replied:
By all means its your freedom to see one of these people I'd strongly advise not to see one and to just get a massage. They are by no means doctors and can do some very serious damage. I've had a family member have a stroke and passed away shortly after having an adjustment, and we were able to prove it in court too. Just letting you know the risks, stay safe and hope you find relief.

I highly recommend The Live Well Centre! Laura Gifford and her husband are amazing! It's $40/session...but I can't remember what the initial session costs.

It may not be what you need (i.e. too far), but there is a guy in Port Hope who is a miracle worker. Two of my brothers who are doctors in the area recommended him to me, after he treated one of their surgeon colleagues who had been all over Canada and parts of the US looking for back treatment (including at least one surgery). The surgeon is back to doing marathons. [Alban Merepeza](http://porthopehealthcentre.com/dr-alban-merepeza/) has been on the medical staff for several Olympic teams, and worked with Andre de Grasse in Rio. Personal experience: my SO had a frozen shoulder for about six months. Her doctor told her to take ibuprofen and put heat on it, but nothing worked. Four sessions with Alban over two weeks (her last treatment was the morning of the day he left for the Olympics!) and she has regained almost full mobility. None of this "come back every week" stuff, he simply fixed her shoulder. Amazingly, he doesn't have a months-long waiting list. My SO only had to wait a week or so to see him. Not expensive, either. Edit: Oh yes, none of this "subluxations" or spinal adjustments, either.

Many physiotherapists in the area that would be able to help as well!

I had very good luck with Dr. Leonard Handley. He's a good guy, and does a good job. he also doesn't do something that a lot of chiropractors do, charge you up front a couple of grand for X number of visits.
greenslope replied:
Cameron Read at Frontenac Chiropractic is great. No BS and uses a bunch of different modalities, not at all limited to adjustments, will do soft tissue work, acupuncture etc. No big first time visit fee either. $40 for 45 ish minutes. Made no attempt to have me keep going for appointments once "fixed."

I like this one...My shoulder seizes up due to stress and he fixed it in a session. I also have lower back and hip issues that have been helped through a chiropractor. http://www.amherstviewfamilychiropractic.ca/therapeutic-care/chiropractic-care

I recommend Jason and Rebecca Young at ForeverYoung Chiropractic. The clinic is on the south side of Bath Road near Frontenac HS. Great and caring people. I think they also charge 40 per visit but not sure about the initial. http://www.foreveryoungchiro.ca

You can check with your primary care physician and see if you can get referred to Dr. Karen Julius at Medical Associates in Kingston. My mother currently sees her and praises her work. I also know that she was the team physiotherapist for the Jamaican Olympics delegation. Tel: 876-926-5603 or 876-926-1400. Hope this helps!

Diane M. replied:
John, so not true!! You're one of those that doesn't believe in them huh?! That's sad because they can help and do so much good. Dr Graham enabled me to get down on the floor and play with my boys. I was finally able to go for walks around the block with my kids without being in agony. He has helped with sinus issues, he's amazing when it comes to helping with my migraines. He has treated my grandfather and even both my younger boys. I was skeptical about some of these things and not sure about my children being treated. I let him adjust my youngest years ago (now 10) who was having constant ear infections, 1 of which ruptured his eardrum. He had 2 treatments and never had another one. My oldest had some intestinal issues and he absolutely helped with that. Alignment is absolutely necessary for reducing pain and the body working the way that it should. LOVE Graham Chiropractor in Plymouth!!
