Kids Place on Millertown Pike is AMAZING! My kids went there for years. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it. I'd assume their other locations are worth checking into. http://www.kidsplaceinc.org

https://knoxville.citymomsblog.com/guide-to-knoxville/mdo-and-daycares/ That's a good resource, but heavily west-side leaning. Daycares are hard to come by, at least in my experience - we were on the wait for the University one - ELC (still waiting and he's 2), Little Oaks (in North City - the one we are in now), and Second Presbyterian (off of Kingston Pike near UT). We know several people who have kids in Freedom Christian Academy, they have two infant rooms. Look for daycares with a THREE STAR Rating and look at the history of any incidents. https://www.tn.gov/humanservices/for-families/child-care-services/child-care-report-card-star-quality-program.html
Hi fellow moms!! Have any of you used an in-home nanny for childcare? I am trying to see if this is a good option and would really value your input!

We have used a nanny for almost 4 years now. We had our first nanny for almost 3 years and have had our current nanny for almost a year now. Both my husband and I work jobs with unpredictable schedules and crazy hours so daycare was not an option for us ever since having children. We also don't have any family to help in the area so a nanny was our only option. We used Care.com to find both. We interviewed multiple people each time and knew immediately with both people we have hired they would be the right ones. There is just something there that you will know who is right for you. At least there was for me when interviewing them. Our oldest in now in preschool so we have in school and have the nanny after school and full time for our youngest. Cons: They are much more expensive than your standard daycare, but I suppose that depends on what type of hours, how many hours, and what other jobs other than direct childcare you expect of them. It also depends on which daycares you compare them too. Depending on how you choose to pay them, dealing with taxes and "employing" them can be a pain. The financial side is really the only con. The Pros are endless. The negative attitudes and personalities of bad/mean children are less of an influence on your child when they're not in that setting until an older age. You have child care at any hours you may need versus M-F 9-5. You have backup when someone is sick, including yourself, to care for your children. You have additional help around your house. You have date night childcare. You have a house sitter or petsitter. You have someone to run to the store if need be. Seriously the list goes on. Our personal example: I work one week on and one week off. My husband travels over seas for a couple months at a time every couple months which leaves just me and the nanny for half of the year. During my on week at work, she comes during my work hours and a couple hours early a few days a week so that I can run errands, go to the grocery store, doctors appointments, or one-on-one activities with each child before work. When my husband is home, she still comes during my on week, just for less hours and we use her on my off week so I can go to appointments or we can go on dates or do whatever we need to do less child-friendly. Our previous nanny did laundry and light cleaning. Our current nanny only cleans up whatever she was involved in. Both did/do light shopping for the kids or take them to activities. That may be way too much info...haha...feel free to email me (karam.kirk@gmail.com) if you have more or different questions!

My two pups go to Pets R People 2 one or two days a week. $20 per dog per day, open 7 to 7. They're all lovely people and extremely accommodating. They also provide other services that you can purchase, such as nail clipping and bathing. They also will provide the Bordatella vaccine every six months that you can purchase and they will administer. Much cheaper than having to schedule a vet appt for it and paying those fees along with the price of the vaccine. Edit: They also provide boarding which is fantastic if we need to go out of town. They're familiar with the facility and the staff, so I always know my babies are comfortable. That's typically $35 per day per dog (24 hours).

step 1- buy a dog crate. step 2- put puppy in crate and shut door. step 3- leave the house and go about your daily life. step 4- puppy will be okay until you return.

Hush Puppy's Pet Services in West Knox area may be worth looking into. They do in home walks but they are partnering up with other dog people and opening up a facility this fall that will include daycare!
