Hi Shera ... I am a single mum with 2 happy n successful girls ... I hv been through some lonely n tough time myself which has now lead me to do a program called Be At Your Best which looks at understanding yourself and your happiness. However in this scenario I think she needs a friend who can lift her up first. She can call me and meet up first and see if I can help.

Hi Shera & all mommies, plz feel free to check through the following link for the lists of professional mental health services in Malaysia. It is a hard work by a group of mental health helpers to compile the list. They are still trying hard to update it. I hope this is useful to everyone who needs it. http://turningpoint.org.my/index.php?resources-1

My friend has depression. Any recommendations for a good psychiatrist/psychologist/counsellor in Klang Valley? Any help appreciated!
lalat_1881 replied:
I had a friend who was depressed. He stayed in his room for days and only ate instant noodles, and he would write these sad shitty cryptic status on FB.
I tricked him into going out to see a late movie and then just driving around seedy parts of town to see transvestite hookers, for shits and giggles.
Later we sat by the beach and ate junk food and just chatted about random stuff until it was near dawn. Slowly I asked a few silly but personal things, like his hairdo and his choice of jeans, and gradually worked it up to his family and friends and hometown.
so basically his whole problem was he liked this girl in office that was out of his league and he could not get himself out of that friendzone hole.
after that he was a bit better and seemed to do OK. we hung out for a while a few times and then I was away on an assignment but we kept in touch via FB.
then another stupid bullshit came up in his life and he quickly went down the depression hole again.

This guy, at The Mind Faculty: https://www.erufucare.com/doctor/dr-joseph-j-panikulam One caveat: when he prescribes drugs, just take the prescription to the pharmacy. DO NOT buy from The Mind Faculty, as they add 100% markup to the drugs they prescribe. Dr Joseph: Excellent. The Mind Faculty owners: not so much. I wish your friend good health.

I’m sorry to hear about your friend but it’s reassuring to know there’s someone trying to help them. You could give SOLS Health (https://www.solshealth.org) a try. They’re an NGO based in Sg Besi and have counsellors and clinical psychologists, both trained and trainees, and if your friend is in the low income bracket/student, sessions are at a reduced price (as far as I know). Hope your friend gets the appropriate help they need.
