I used to go to the Oso Niguel Heathcare Center in Laguna Niguel to see Dr. James Connor. I found him by chance a few years back and highly recommend him. Out of all the doctors I have ever seen in my life he was the only one who actually spent time with me and wasn't in a rush to see the next paycheck, I mean patient. The entire staff there are great. Their number is 949-643-9111.

Dr. Koumas in Lake Forest has been my families primary care physician since my mom was 9. Right now their PA is out on maternity leave though, so getting in might be a few weeks. Google Lake Forest Medical Group for their information.

Dr. Nader Noorian who practices near the 5 and crown valley is an excellent choice.

Hey TTT, i don't know where you live, so this might not be super helpful, but i would recommend Dr. Bakul Patel in Foothill Ranch. He's off the 5 at Lake Forest by the 241 Toll Road. He's great and his staff are really good. And if you need x-rays they can do them in house (bonus!). you can reach his office at 949-588-9293

Just a note: general practitioner is no longer a term that means a family practice physician. A general practitioner these days is outlawed in almost every state.

Dr. David Bunten in Costa Mesa. He is part of Greater Physicians of Newport. I love him!

If you don't mind heading towards Hoag in Newport Beach my dad's side of the family has been using the same doctor for years. He's very good, my dad has a ton of joint and back problems and he has helped a lot. If anyone is interested I can get his name from my dad (I can't remember off the top of my head)

I need recommendations for a good high risk Obgyn in the area. I'll be moving back to the area around week 30 in my pregnancy and will need to get to a doctor ASAP....
Beth R. replied:
I guess it will really depend on how high risk, if you are at the highest level of risk Westchester or Albany would be your best bet. If you are just moderately high risk Vassar would be fine. Dr. Heller at Vassar saved my best friend and her babies life. NDH and Vassar are both Healthquest so if you were to go to NDH and needed a higher level of care you would be transferred.
Meghan C. replied:
I use Chista Safajou who delivers at Vassar, and she's been excellent. She refers to Dr. Lescale for prenatal testing, and he is very thorough, plus his office is gorgeous! I've also met with Dr. Bloch, and he seemed very kind and competent. I'm not sure if he only delivers at NDH or Vassar as well though. I can only say good things about the NICU at Vassar, too! Not only is the staff providing excellent care for the babies, but they're also very loving and nurturing, which I think makes a huge difference. Good luck with your move!
Diane H. replied:
I was high risk and ended up hospitalized and was given the optoon to have the ambulance take me to vbh or albany. I delivered at 32 weeks with a 2 lb baby girl in need of NICU. We went to Albany med because the NICU was and still is a level 4. Vassar was a level 3 and still is I believe but I have heard good things there too. I have also heard good things about Dr Herde. She is good and one of the few high risk OB's here.
Michelle R. replied:
Dr. Schlesinger in Albany was wonderful with my high risk pregnancy. That was ten years ago, but I hope she is still around.
Marcy T. replied:
Dr Lescale gets my vote!
Diane H. replied:
just for the record...if you read my post above, Dr Beer was my OB who saved not only my life but my daughter's by hospitalizing us first at NDH and realized I needed a higher level of care and suggested we go to VBH or Albany. And was the Dr. to take the time to explain the difference between a level 3 and 4 NICU. I love Dr Beer.
Lisa G. replied:
Dr Beer and her partner Dr Terranova. The whole practice is great. Young, smart, they know stuff!
Diane R. replied:
Kat Costa. Was the rude one sorry Leah Riddell
Michelle B. replied:
Dr. Heller at Vassar Bros. was excellent and great bedside manner as well! Good Luck!
Debbie G. replied:
My daughter just switched(at 24 weeks) from Terranova's practice because she was high risk and they did nothing we went with Dr. Heller at Vassar wonderful doctor answered our questions and we are using the obgyn practice across from Vassar which is the same office as Rhinebeck but different doctor's.....Dr. Mancus.....Don't risk being transferred from NDH just use Vassar. We are still waiting for my grandson any day now! Good luck
Cathy L. replied:
Dr Herde works out of MKMG..
Bekki H. replied:
Leah Riddell, for a regular OB who delivers at a high risk hospital, I agree with all the recommendations for Dr. Herde. She is absolutely amazing If you need high risk prenatal care with a perinatologist, like I mentioned earlier, Dr. Lescale is great. .
Kim M. replied:
Dr. Lance Murphy, 600 Westage Business Ctr Dr, Fishkill, NY 12524 was my doctor, High risk, I ended up at Yale Medical Center (which is the best). My first daughter Brandy died at birth at Yale, then I had to go there for 2 years. I did not have Dr. Murphy in the beginning as I did not know what I was the carrier of that killed my first daughter. But, through God above, Yale & Dr. Murphy my daughter Victoria is now 21
Heather F. replied:
Diane, it was someone else who posted "stay away from Dr. Beer." Please read carefully before attacking Leah or anyone else.
Jennie G. replied:
I recommend Mount Kisco Med Group in Pok (Dr Roberts, Dr Saychek & Dr Herde are my faves). I had 3 c-sections are Vassar, everyone there is amazing. Good luck!!
Carey B. replied:
I also had great experiences with Dr. Beer, & Margi Reiter the midwife in her office is amazing as well as Dr. Amy Novat, all fantastic women and wonderful attentive care for all your women's health needs right in Rhinebeck.
Cathy L. replied:
Dr Herde is wonderful and she works out of Vassar..!!!
Jennefer H. replied:
I just spent 2.5 months in the hospital with Dr . Heller at Vassar ( on bedrest). I would highly reccomended her. My usual docs are Dr. Beer and Terranova. They're great too but depends on how high risk you are. ND is good but as someone else said. Just go to vassar if you need high risk.
Nicole C. replied:
I delivered with two midwives ... I'm not sure if Dr. Bloch delivers at Vassar, probably just Neugarten but he is amazing. I wish I couls have him as my primary care physician haha! I love everyone in his practice. I delivered with Julie Denney and Nancy Rozensweig (not sure on the spelling of her last name but she was phenomenal.... so calming, great natured).
Leah R. replied:
I really like Dr. Bloch's practice! Unfortunately I can't go there .
Bekki H. replied:
If you are looking for a perinatologist, I go to Dr. Lescale in Poughkeepsie and he's great! I am seeing him for my third high-risk pregnancy and he's been awesome every time.
Diane R. replied:
Leah Riddell you need too keep your comments too your self especially on Facebook. That is a very rude and senseless remark too make. Keep your comments too yourself. I like Dr. Beers and her group.
Danielle E. replied:
Dr. Heller at vassar!
Kerry Z. replied:
if you need a true high-risk dr., you should see Dr. Keith Lescale in POK along with your chosen OB. He's a high-risk perinatalogist. he solely works with high-risk pregancies on top of whatever OB you choose to use.
Did anyone have Dr. Julius Popkin for their doctor? He was on Maple St.
Mark G. replied:
Don't forget about Cambridge St with Mr Moody and family
Angel S. replied:
Did anyone go to Dr. Mortimer Stone DDS on Main St?
Peggy A. replied:
Dr. Norman Popkin was on Mulberry Street, off of Maple delivered me, my sisters and brother - and then took care of my daughter for a couple years. When he retired (he had cancer) he moved down to Florida to be with his brother and yes - he died within a few months. 1980 I think. I found myself calling his office for the longest time. Great down to earth country style doc. $10 per visit, lol Claire was a blessing too! Man they don't make 'em like that anymore.
OC friends, I need a good dermatologist (not cosmetic specific) and regular physician for physicals etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ☀️
