I highly recommend [GoldenView Veterinary](http://www.goldenviewvet.com/) in Golden (on Colfax, right near I-70)! It's where I took my guinea pig. They were great, knowledgeable, and Dr. Kris is absolutely fantastic with the animals. They specialize in birds and exotics, but I love them so much I take my cat there as well. I've never been to another vet, so I'm not sure how they compare price-wise, but i would say they are totally worth it.

We live very close to Lakewood and take our cats to West Alabama animal hospital for serious stuff (like when our cat had to have a tumor removed from his ear) on West Alabama near Shepherd, and to the Pet Care Express on Holcombe (near Holcombe and Kirby) for stuff like flea treatments, yearly shots, etc. Pet Care Express has $9 office visits, and great care. The supervising vet there is a great teaching doc, and discovered our old cat's unusual thyroid issue when other docs told us it was kidney failure. Gave us an extra year or two with him. We will always be so grateful to him for finding it - plus, it was a cheap $30 a month prescription drug to make our old cat feel a lot better.

Second Cat Vet Clinic - they are amazing and correctly diagnosed my kitty with asthma when my old vet misdiagnosed what they thought was a large tumor in her chest. She's doing amazing now at 13 years old. I've worked with 2 of the vets there with my 3 cats and they are wonderful.

I go to Bingle Vet in Spring Branch. Not the cheapest but they've been great to my and my friends animals.

I used to live at the Inverness pretty much down the street from Lakewood. I still take my dog to Noah's Ark Animal Hospital on W Alabama, just behind Lamar High. Honestly, I might be a bit biased since one of the vets there went to the uni I go to now but I've always loved their service. I'm not sure how their prices compare with other clinics but I highly recommend them as far as service, professionalism, comfort, etc... go.

The Cat Doctor on Westheimer in Montrose. Very personable.

We've been going to Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital for 8 years. Seen all their vets and like them all. Even though we moved outside the beltway we still drive in to go here because we like them so much.

Lakewood Pet Vet was great! I worked at VCA for years but I couldn't keep taking my pets there because it was so expensive! I'm very picky from my experience & at Lakewood pet vet their prices were very fair! I saw Dr. handley and he was great, if you mention their ad in penny saver first visit is free!
