I'm a Bear Valley Vet fan! We've never had a problem getting in for an appointment, they care quite a lot about our animals and call to check in, their treatment plans have worked for our two cats and our dog. They can be a little spendy, but they are upfront about costs and we usually end up seeing them for something urgent. They have a free vaccines program that we have and use for the pup. I like both Dr. Stevenson and Dr. Lyons but they do have different personalities and views. Both have listened to my concerns and offer research based opinions and in the end let me decide what is best for our pets. We're pretty involved (and invested) dog owners so it's nice to have them nearby when we need them!

I've had nothing but good experiences at Brentwood. Dr Brown and staff are friendly and compassionate. They've taken great care of my cats over the years at very reasonable prices. My nephew had a golden with cancer. He saw Dr Brown for a second opinion. She connected him to a program at CSU so he could get treatment at a reasonable cost.

Wadsworth Animal Hospital is a nice little office, near Bel Mar.
Tom S. replied:
Barnes Vet clinic. Hampden and Kipling. Very reasonable and Dr. Kenny treats everyone very well
Brett B. replied:
Dr. Brown at Bentwood Animal Hospital is the best vet in Denver. I can't even tell you generous and kind she and her staff are. They has seen three dogs, three cats, and three ferrets from our home over the past 15 yrs. Dr. Brown is known for waiving the office visit fee in order for your pet to get those expensive meds or treatments. She is always willing to donate meds and supplies based on your income and needs.

Yay! Congrats! I really love Bear Valley Vet. I know there are people that have not had good experience with them (see Robin's comment), but in August when our dog was sick they were absolutely amazing with him! He lived for 6 months with a nasty gastrointestinal cancer. Dr. Lyons specifically was so sweet with him, and he was a dog that was scared of EVERYTHING due to being heavily abused before we adopted him. I will admit though that they are not super cheap. Our annual check up for the other dog cost about $160.
Robin B. replied:
Ally Gale, actually Dr. Lyons is the one we had a problem with. I went in to put my cat down about 7 weeks ago and she refused to do it. She asked me if I wanted to rehome instead. He had three blockages before that needed surgery to fix, had diabetes, and was losing control of his bladder. She then gave him too much antibiotic in a shot (working off the 18 pounds he was last year not the 11 pounds he was currently) and he then had diareah and was vomiting. Anyway, a couple weeks ago, I took him to Academy Vet not knowing what else to do. They did some tests and found out he also was in renal failure, severely dehydrated, and he suspected thyroid problems also. It broke my heart to think of how he suffered his last couple weeks.

4 Paws Animal Clinic at Colfax and Kipling. It's a little farther away, but they are great. I have been going to them since 1989.

I think I need a good-yet-reasonably-priced vet in NLR. Our little dog has what seems like it may be "Kennel Cough." She's not feeling well at all. Anybody got any vets...
Jennifer S. replied:
I love Dr Randy Ashley. It's not a fancy place. He will explain what's going on and discuss the ways to treat it. AND he suggests books for Robert to read. Over off Protho.
