FYI...I know many of us get on TBG asking for referrals for home repairs, and I wanted to mention that Angie's List is a wonderful resource that only costs $10 a year!...
Jamie P. replied:
Sure Shine Cleaning Solutions. They are coming out the first week of August, so I'll let you know how they do!
Ron K. replied:
The Better Business Bureau is the best for referrals
Ben W. replied:
So with 3579 members on TBG, why not mention what your husband does?? I think most people on here look for local people (it kind of defeats the purpose of listing outside of Gahanna). I don't know Dan Burkett personally, but if I ever have a computer/phone issue, I fully intend to contact him just because of the reviews on this page... My list of go-to people never changes, as I've known them for the last 25+ years...
Ronda M. replied:
He does landscaping. I didn't want it be an advertising comment. I wanted it to be honest. Montanez All seasons Maintenance LLC.
Vicki W. replied:
I use homeadvisor.com it's free but I also like to hear opinions on here
Vickie A. replied:
I thought Angie's List was a monthly subscription! Well, heck I'll sign up! I have used Home Advisor and gotten poor results so far.
Barbara R. replied:
Brian Farneth - Angies List is not a site recommending companies. It's the members who are writing in-depth reviews, telling you exactly what the work entailed, what the charge was, and very informative reviews. It's a much better resource than this group because there are dozens of reviews. It's a good suggestion by Jamie Petree.
HomeAdvisor.com get 3 bids within 30 mins and you choose if you want to use them

Can anyone recommend a furnace repair / replacement company? I have a mid 1990's oil furnace that is working well, but i am considering replacement because i am...
ShenandoahValley replied:
Not sure it's really 10K higher than the national average. I had to replace mine back in 2013 and it cost me $7000. Good unit but not the top and done by a good company after 3 quotes. This was in Manassas before I moved out here and not sure they come out this far. You might try something like Homeadvisor.com for companies but always check reviews on Google before hiring.
ivegotmrcracker replied:
The cost will kind of depend on if just the burner needs to be replaced or the whole boiler unit itself and surrounding pipe work also need to be replaced. I'd recommend just getting on yelp/angie's list etc and get a few quotes for the work. I had good luck with a couple different small companies I called for heater/ac tune ups over the past few years.

I’m a licensed HVACR contractor but I don’t do residential. I live in the area I cannot do the work due to my CBA but could recommend a few people. PM me pictures of existing unit and I can give you a estimate.
Does anyone in the Lawrenceburg, Versailles, Frankfort area know someone that will replace our hvac system that is honest and reasonable? Any suggestions would help.
Shawn R. replied:
We got quotes and such from a half dozen people/businesses and ended up going with Daniel Ennis "Absolute Comfort Heating and Cooling." We've been very happy with the decision. I'll send his number in a message.
Angela D. replied:
I used Country Side in Lawrenceburg. I was very pleased with the gentleman that did my work. If you want I'll look up the number and get it to you.
Angela D. replied:
That's odd. Wade Hatchell is ok too.(Iknow he's harder to get in touch with.
