I would look for a physical therapist in the area that is certified in the McKenzie method. After 2 specialists and 2 therapists. The McKenzie therapist had my son feeling better in 3 to 4 visits

Dr. Rios, to my understanding, isn't a surgeon, but I figured if I needed surgery, he'd refer me to Dr. First or the other surgeon in their office. Thankfully I didn't need surgery, and I liked Dr. Rios. Hope Taylor is ok.

I need help! I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago, been to a chiropractor, and regular doctor, was given an adjustment and told to ice it often, tried that,3 days later...
Bobby M. replied:
Make it 11 with a longass story: Had bad back pain - the "can't get out of bed for two days" kind. Spent weeks and weeks and many hundreds of dollars going to a multitude of doctors, orthos, specialists, and surgeons all of whom had different diagnosis but all of whom had the same treatment - surgery. Over the course of all this research, though, I did decide my issue was a prolapsed disk pressing on the sciatic nerve. Also, that my case resulted from decades of desk work, bad office chair, bad couch and non existent exercise program. Also concluded all the specialists I had been talking to were traditional, hard core doctors - really good at bones and organs and infections and stuff like that but what I needed was somebody who specialized in soft tissue, muscle related issues. Forgot to mention, I had never been to a Chiropractor before. So I hooked up with Smart Body Chiropractic (Dr Vargo and Dr Chris), who took a look at me, immediately sent me for an MRI then concluded inflammation had trapped the nerve, continually aggravating it, and what I needed First was a steroid shot in my spine to releave the pressure so we could work on it. That worked wonderfully! 'Course, I still had months and months of monitored PT work, mostly at a 24 Hr Fit gym, to strengthen core muscles and improve flexibility while also losing some weight. Bad part of all this being I now spend a great deal of time and money doing triathlons but I'll take that pain over sciatica anytime!!! Bottom lines (for me): 1) Find a solid Chrio with a history of working on spinal injuries, nerve issues. 2) Get a hard core evaluation done - MRI or whatever - to know exactly what the problem is. 3) Stick with the Chiro to develop a physical treatment plan and monitor your progress. 3) Prepare to purchase a gym membership, new furniture and a new mattress. 4) Surgery is your LAST resort. If you decide to use Smart Body, give me a call and let's talk.

So sorry to hear that you hurt your back and in pain. Earlier this year I was in constant pain. I would literally cry for the pain. Everything hurt! I had all kinds of tests. And due to my liver disease, i am limited to what type of medication I could take. I was even thinking of acupuncture. When I went to look for an acupuncturist in Houston, I decided to try massage pressure therapy. After 4-5 months of constant pain, I found some relief of pain. I highly recommend this. If you have any questions, please call me. I will be happy to tell you about my sessions. I usually do a session every other week. 281-703-4509.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good doctor in the Centralia/ Chehalis area that takes Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance?
Brittany C. replied:
I had premeria had premera BC/BS for years (only switch because of job change) I never had a problem with it wth any dr I went to in lewis county.
