I'm looking for recommendations for daycare/preschool. My daughter will be 3 Sept. 21 and is potty trained. I found one place but the hours are 9-2. Not nearly long...

We love High Meadows Academy. Very reasonably priced by comparison to the chain daycares, privately run. When we were there, the staff had been around long-term.

I will whole heartedly recommend Children's Courtyard on Valley Ridge. The directors are amazing, the teachers were all super fantastic. I think Ms. Meagan is part magician, she practically potty trained our munchkin before we knew it. She is the sweetest person, and all the kids adored her. Every day we came in to drop off/pick up EVERYONE greeted our kiddo by name even if they had never had us in their class. Every staff member always asked how we were and said hello. I never had a bad experience with them, and truly loved the happy atmosphere. They had great activities for the kiddos, an inside play area when it was too hot to go outside and a little library to do reading time in. They're open 6:30-6:30. I'm now a stay-at-home-mom, but I tried every way I could think of to keep our kiddo in school with them. Truly one of the hardest decisions ever to decide if she should stay with me or go to school- but with two kiddos wasn't financially viable. It's been a little while, but I ran into one of the directors the other day at a Lewisville event. Not only did she remember our names- she even remembered our baby's name- who had never been to her school. Awesome awesome people. I genuinely miss them.

Lewisville Christian School is awesome! In fact, they were voted in the top three in Denton County! They are at Main Street and Garden Ridge. Their number is 972-436-0811. Both of my kids went there. Linda Seagraves is the office secretary.

I work at Montessori Episcopal School on Old Orchard and College. All three of my kids went there before I started teaching (kids were ready to move on and I wasn't....such a loving atmosphere!) Our school day is 8:15 to 2:30 but we have child care as early as 7:30 all the way to 6 pm if you need it. Come stop by for a tour and see what we have to offer your daughter!

Chris Archbold- they moved that house onto the Austin Ranch Apartment property (technically The Colony, but off Windhaven and Plano Pkwy.) The house itself is on Arbor Hills Way if I remember correctly. They use it as a rental community area, or at least they did 6+ years ago. I moved to that community right before they put that house there- imagine my surprise when a bit of my home town moved in next door!
