Per KY law, Chiropractic can only treat matters related to the "spine and adjacent tissues". If they claim to be able to treat any other conditions, then they are working out of their legal scope of practice and breaking the law. Is only a matter of time before one of them gets caught and sued. Secondarily, if they offer any claims of benefits to any other disease or medical condition, not only are they breaking the law but they can be sued for false advertisement. Lastly, there is no arguing that medicine, in an earthly sense, is based purely on science. Maximized Living has 0 scientific evidence, and when the practitioners of this are questioned on it or if you request data, all they gave you is testimonials, not studies. The Chiropractic Association of America has also made Maximized Living illegal to be taught in any of the chiropractor schools due to this. As I said above, it's only a matter of time before this whole scammed gets exposed fully, & I feel bad for those who have been taken advantage of. I went to medical school to help people, not to make a profit off of them. Didn't mean to turn this into a debate on what is proper medicine and what isn't, I'm looking out for your best interest and safety. KY Law: SUMMARY OF SCOPE OF PRACTICE: (Contact State for precise definition by state law) Doctor of Chiropractic means one qualified by experience and training and licensed by the Board to diagnose his patients and to treat those of his patients diagnosed as having diseases or disorders relating to subluxations of the articulations of the human spine and its adjacent tissues by indicated adjustments or manipulation of those subluxations and by applying methods of treatments designed to augment those adjustments or manipulation. OTHER REFERENCE INFORMATION: 1 Board regulates specialty council certification: Kentucky law recognizes two specialties: Chiropractic Orthopedics (bones and alignment) & Chiropractic Roentgenology (x-rays) - must be certified by board; however, additional specialties are being considered.

My horse is currently on Cyproheptadine, magnesium, vit e, melatonin, has a uv face mask and nose net. Currently his symptoms are under control. But it has been a struggle. Also I enrolled in the uv Davis headshaking syndrome study. Hope that's helpful.

Why don't you try to get in touch with a vet at a large school like UC Davis, University of AZ or even try calling Rood and Riddle in KY and see what their vets say. It's worth a try. I know they won't be able to see him just ask if they have had experience with other horses doing this and what were the outcomes.

Look into GastroPlus by T.H.E Equine performance. My vet and I believed the chemical fillers in some of the meds were actually making my guy worse. Here's what we did instead of gastrogard: 2 cups rice bran 1/4 th can of papaya mashed 2 pills opened of licorice root powder 1/3 cup aloe juice 3 cups alfalfa pellets The GastroPlus from the Equine performance gal, 1 oz scoop. 2 oz scoop of Opti-Zyme from manna pro.
