Alright horse friends... I am a senior in high school who is required to write a 10-12 page research paper on something. Obviously I wanted to do equine related things....
Paige C. replied:
Check out Colorado State Universities sites. Especially information on their Equine Sports Medicine team And their Equine Orthopeadic Research hospital. They have tons of published works talking about surgical therapies, hydro therapy. Treadmill use. And the set of their new state of the art equine hospital that is focused on sports medicine and regenerative medicine and therapies post orth surgery. You can probably even email a list of interview questions to the doctors on the staff and get a couple to email you back answers. Obviously they can't give info on on-going research. But they can answer personal questions about their careers. I use to work and go to school there and it's an incredible place.
Angela C. replied:
What about www.magnawavepf.com for a therapy paper?
Kathy J. replied:
Have you checked pubmed.com for research articles?
Michelle P. replied:
If you are on pubmed.gov, most (but not all) veterinary journal articles will be accessible to you. The suggestion of a local university above is also a very good one. I'd also suggest emailing Kesmarc.com (KY horse rehab center) to see if they can help you out. If you need papers, PM me and I'll get them for you- as long as you tell me what exactly you need.
Stephanie S. replied:
You could always contact this facility http://kesmarc.com/
I spoke with my girlfriend, who works for The Message Center, in Lexington. She does make house calls for couples and will bring another masseuse with her. Hubby and I did a couple's massage in Lexington. Loved it.

Has anyone had success with certain veterinary treatments for back/muscle soreness?
*please don't comment with saddle fit, supplements, half pads, asking specifically...
Adrianne K. replied:
Magna Wave! If you can find someone in your area. My farrier and his wife have a machine and they travel all over working on many different animals. It is great with helping to reduce pain and inflammation. https://www.magnawavepemf.com/pemf-for-horses/
Brandon F. replied:
I very strongly recommend Magna Wave treatment for any sore muscles. I have seen it do wonderful things for horses and people alike it has no side affects is non invasive and relatively inexpensive. Pm me if you would like to know more and I can help you get set up with a certified practitioner in your area
