Looking for recommendations on a supplement, or treatment for a horse with dry hocks/creaky joints. He's 16, feels like a million dollars just I know his hocks are...
Diana H. replied:
I Swear by Back on Track Products. Just loosen things up and gets/keeps them warm. I really can't say enough. I have a sheet, quick wraps, and front boots. I know they make hock boots. Benefab and Professional Choice have similar products if you want to shop around for best price. Buteless is also a great supplement; takes the edge off for my old creaky guy (and he'll be 30) and best of all it won't break the bank!

I use Essential K GC Plus by Tribute as a top dress with my horse's feed. He's a 19 yo WB with arthritis and an old injury that retired him for 8 years. He's now riding sound and acting more fresh than a 4 yo. I top dress with 1 pound 2 x a day and cut back his feed drastically. It also helped build muscle.

Look up MJK Quarter Horses and Horse Transport. They are phenomenal and moved my horse from PA to WI and my friends horse all the way from NC to CA (Taylor Leigh Stotler). They are really the best and care so much about the horses. Genuinely great people. I would say from my experience sometimes the little guys are cheaper and if you find the right one (like these guys I suggested) they can give specialized care to your horse unlike the big guys. MJK cares for your horse like their own!

Equine Express moved my neurotic TB from MA to VA...they treated him like royalty and he walked off the trailer calm and relaxed! Cost me about $1K for a box stall (highly recommend this “upgrade” for longer trips)
