1) r/fitness is a great tool. 2) You've heard the adage that you "can't outrun a bad diet?" It's true. So, download a calorie tracker (I use MFP but there are lots). This is your new god. If it says you're out of calories, you're gonna go hungry. 3) I think you have access to the Johnson center. If you don't, join a gym. Lift heavy things. 4) There is nothing wrong with chicken, rice, and peas for dinner every day of the week. ETA: I started trying to lose weight/build muscle in AUG 2017 at 301 lbs and could only do 6 push ups. I currently weigh 260 lbs and can do 25 push ups. PM me if you want to know more about what helps me.

Not for nothing, but I quit bread/beer, all breads too (pizzas, bagels, naan, muffins) for 14 months now and lost 60 lbs. It wasn't easy, but that is all I did. You wont need Spreadsheets, Macros, or Calorie Counting Apps. Just will-power.

Start by keeping an accurate food journal for two weeks. Don't make any changes just write down /everything/ you eat, and the calories if possible. The key to weight loss is not eating significantly over or under your daily caloric expenditure and eating roughly the same amount every day for months and months.
Don't be judgemental of yourself, but journal EVERYTHING including licking the spoon, bites of other people's food and commit to writing it down BEFORE you eat it. Often the act of thinking before you eat something, taking some extra time, and holding yourself accountable will help you make better choices.
There's more to it than that, but keeping a food journal is super important and you'll have some data for your dietician to work with once you get hooked up with one.

I spoke to one via fb chat from https://www.facebook.com/554188981325507 Biostar US about general nutrition, workload, body condition and supplements (not sure if that helps but they’re a great company and recommended a supplement that’s not even their brand which made me feel I could trust them more!)
