Amy Weidenaar, there are numerous studies that show that even when you control for finances, children of color still get diagnosed later than white children. Here is a study (hopefully it's the right link) of Medicaid-eligible children of all races. These "poor" white children, boys included, still obtained an autism diagnosis earlier than the non-white children. Furthermore, there is no shortage of info and role models for white autistic boys. http://m.pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/132/1/94.full

Dr Puccioni from Omaha. Not sure if he does Adults to I know he works with kids. He is in a building with others also. I have not had one problem with him when dealing with my childrens chiari issues.
Angie R. replied:
As I messaged you earlier, Dr Puccioni is great; when Gavin had to have his, decompression redone just, he moved his schedule around to get Gavin in ASAP. Very easy to talk to, which can sometimes hard to come by with neurosurgeons:)
Jessi J. replied:
I am scheduled for a full MRI scan next week, and seeing Dr Puccioni the week after!! Thanks everyone!:)
Jill N. replied:
Dr Puccioni with Midwest Neurosurgery is were we go - he does see adults as well. Office is in Omaha but it is the place to go as Dr. Hellbusch and others are there as well and I haven't heard any complaints from those that go there as well.
Greg H. replied:
I have seen Dr. Hellbusch and thought he was great. He listened to me and let me decide what to do, if anything. I am 12 years post op.
Katie R. replied:
I saw Dr. Long at Midwest Neurosurgery and was not happy with him. he was full of himself and did not feel I was worth his time. I ended up going to Dr. Oro in Colorado, as I felt weird trying to see one of Dr. Long's colleagues. I have heard good things about some of the other doctors as mentioned above.
Katie R. replied:
I have also heard great things about Dr. Thorell at UNMC. He is suppose to have a good bedside manner.
Linda B. replied:
Dr Bowdino at Midwest Neurosurgery--great, fantastic, NEVER makes you feel like he is rushing or doesn't have time for ANY questions, you can call him anytime, just a wonderful man and great surgeon"
