I see Dr Santa-Maria at Nabraska Medicine and love her. I also see a chiropractor, Dr Brook at Hoogeveen Chiropractic. The combination of both has helped me a lot with my migraines (which are due to an autoimmune disease).

The neuro I saw was dr Harris Frankel from UnMC. And I also saw a pain management. That dr was dr Rikies at UnMC. No longer on meds and go to the chiropractor monthly

Dr lee is awesome he has even given me his personal number if I have problems to get ahold of him. Neurologists in Grand Island is Dr Brabec in the same building as Dr lee across the hall they work well together.

I have seen tons in Omaha plus was back out to see Dr. Oro they can give you a headache pill thats basically like Excedrin Migrane, however if your still having headaches you may need a shunt or its just a symptom of Chiari that your going to have to deal with. I have had 3 Neurologists tell me that including Dr. Oro. Just because we wre decompressed doesn't promise us the symptoms will go away:( I need a shunt here but not in Colorado so I have to managed my symptoms cause shunting me could be deadly so I just continue toget spinal taps:(

But if it's for an adult you could still contact his office and see if they can refer you to another neurologist that's familiar with ANMDARE. Many people don't know their options for their children when it comes to neurological issues so I'm hoping you find this helpful. I wrote an article about chiropractic and it's effects on epilepsy. I had a high risk pregnancy and can not recommend enough Methodist women's perinatology; all of the doctors are great but love Dr Todd Lovgren. Their staff with perinatal, l&d, & Nicu is amazing. I'm military as well.

My 2 year old son has spina bifida. I delivered at Nebraska Medicine. I love their MFM group. I also chose to deliver there because they have every single specialist you can imagine. I have spinal issues myself and was high risk from the get go. I knew if I had any issues or my son, we would both be in great hands. Also, they have recently redone all of their delivery rooms and pp rooms and Both my son and I received amazing care. Loved the NICU staff. For pediatric neurosurgeons, Puccioni is the way to go. His NP is awesome and who you will talk with a lot. He operated on my son 2 hours after he was born.

My son has Spina Bifida hands down 100℅ dr puccioni for neurosurgeon all the families we know in the area go to him. As far as high risk ob's I had the high risk team at unmc I loved the docs but was not fond of the nursing staff but that was almost 11 years ago. I delivered my 3rd baby at began and loved the nursing staff and I have worked with the NICU staff when I used to do newborn photos at the hospitals and I can say I personally think the NICU staff at vegan is the most caring from what I saw working with the hospitals. Pain management wise that can be a bit tricky since I assume you are tricare, it's been years since I was tricare so I am not sure who they still work with but I know we have a lot of good clinics In the area for that. Hope that helps and feel free to message any other questions you may have we are a very open family and have had plenty of good and bad experiences so we like to help people avoid the bad if possible!

I am high risk with mine and see Dr Satpathy with methodist perinatology. Cannot say enough good thing about him. Very thorough and nice man.

NE Medicine (UNMC).

I have a daughter with spina bifida and there are a few families in the Omaha area if you are looking to connect with other moms. I see Lauren Citro has already commented. I delivered my daughter at Methodist Womens. I also see a few ladies have mentioned Dr. Lovgren. He didn't deliver my daughter with SB but he delivered my second daughter and I was really impressed with him. Dr. Puccioni is the neurosurgeon who frequently cares for SB patients. He did my daughter's repair and shunt placement. I also wanted to add, feel free to PM me or friend request me.

Dr. Todd Lovgren at Methodist Women's is the absolute best. I was under his care for both of my pregnancies and have nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his team.

You need a fraternal fetal medical doctor and a level 3 NICU and your baby will probably end up at children's hospital as a transfer in after birth. You can not deliver at Children's so the transfer is not avoidable. Based on ease of transfer/ shortest drive you will want to be at Nebraska Medical Center, they have a FFM and a level 3 NICU. The other option is Creighton/Bergan (they just merged). This is closest to Children's but also has its own level 3 NICU. The FFM guy is Michael Barsoom. He has delivered 2 babies for me @ Bergan. He is very good and there is no one else in Omaha I would trust with my baby. Do not go to Methodist system. They do not have a FFM doctor on staff. The regular OBGYNs will tell you they handle High Rick all the time however they are not certified and there NICU are only level 2. They tried telling me they could handle it and would avoid the question about FFM certified. I also have friends that have had horrible births there because of there negligence.

High risk OB Dr Barsoom at Bergen 100% hands down! I had never seen a guy and he is who my midwife recommended and I couldn't have felt more comfortable. He's terrific

Dr. Puccioni is the only pediatric neurosurgeon in the area to my knowledge. His bedside manner is less than desirable, but he is a decent surgeon. I personally struggle with the HROB/MFM docs. I have seen them at all the institutions. Methodist seemed to have the best, but with our child's prenatal diagnosis, they still weren't totally supportive. But their bedside manner was way better than UNMC and Bergan. Children's would be the preferred NICU hands down. At one point Bergan had a few deliver rooms at Children's, but I am not sure if that is still occurring.

While I wasn't a fan of Dr. Barsooms bedside manner he is a very good doctor. We had two amazing experiences with the Bergman NICU, I can't say enough good things about all of the doctors and nurses that cared for us and our boys! If you are looking into care for your child, after birth, I'm currently a special education teacher in Papillion LaVista but previously worked at Children's Respite Care Center in Millard. Absolutely amazing place with caring teachers and nursing staff on site! They serve babies up to age 21.

He was adjusted and felt better the following morning. Now, does going regularly mean you will be/need to be adjusted every time? Nope. We aren't always adjusted when we go. Sometimes we don't have any vertibrae out. Sometimes we are in dire need of going.

He can refer you to a pain specialist. Dr Myers is who I see only thing is he is in Grand Island. Very Good doc though. A lot better then the one I was seeing. Well worth the drive.

Angie Rakes. Not a neurologist, but has treated others with chiari. Actually an Anesthesiologist that specializes in pain management. She actually tried to help my head pain.

Ok. I had an appointment with Dr. Bremer today. She says I don't have chiari anymore because I had a decompression and had my tonsils cautertized. So.... I guess I keep trying.

Dr Iris Moore has been our ENT of choice for all my kids, me and my Dad. She has treated us all and we love her. Our neurologist is a VERY opinionated man if you are interested let me know as many do not like him but he doesn't mince words and calls a spade a spade no soft talk.
