Going to Independence Mazda is like going on holiday with, I don't know, I wouldn't say hitler, but certainly Goebbels. It was like a little holiday with hitler

I sell at one of the dealers here in town.. I can give you some advice... most online pricing is accurate. Pick the car you want online, don’t go to the dealer first. Find the car, go the dealer and talk to 1-2 sales guys and pick one you actually like. Just because they greeted you doesn’t mean you need to work with them. Find someone you like, drive the car to make sure you like it, and buy the car you want. A lot of the sales bs is in the past these days, with 3 rd parties like kbb and nada taking control of most of the process.

don't drive to Fort Mill Ford. Bought a used car back in Jan and am STILL getting crap sorted after so many stupid phone calls. I also payed in cash and got new plates, so its not like I had extenuating circumstances that would complicate things unnecessarily. Don't give them your money.....

Just had a positive experience with Tanner at Hendrick Honda on South Blvd. I'd been passively searching for a used car for months and visited a handful of dealers across the city. He was by far the most straightforward and knowledgeable salesperson I met.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I appreciate it. I wanted to report back! I had a great experience with Adams auto group, the Kannapolis location. they worked great with my bank financing me long distance, and I got a great car with almost all of the manufacturers warranty still on it.
East Charlotte Nissan on the other hand, can eat a big one. They hid almost $3400 worth of fees and line items behind the sticker price, then tried to tell me I could afford it simply by having me change the terms of my loan to a longer period, at a higher rate, and were surprised I turned them down.
They called to offer me a better deal the next day while I was buying a newer and less traveled car with Adams lol.

I recommend Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet if you're looking for a good used car or [Chevy dealer in Charlotte](https://www.citychevrolet.com).

A friend just bought a car from EchoPark, and she was pretty happy with the experience. Only 1-5 year old cars that are about 30-40% off of the new price. Most with the original warranty. I think it’s a no-haggle dealership, but could be wrong on that.

Hate to sound like an advertisement but if you are flexible on time try Carvana. Take your time and find a good deal and don't be afraid to tell them to go to take it back if the car isn't perfect. For actual dealerships I liked S Charlotte VW in my interactions with them.

I loved Carmax off of South, but I'm terrible with negotiations so their set price thing really appealed to me.
I liked the sales at Stateline Chrysler Jeep Dodge, but good god their maintenance department couldn't get anything right.
- I ordered a different rear view mirror, went in 6 weeks later to have it installed, they didn't have it. Ordered the wrong one.
- I didn't get the second key fob, they had lost it. That one was a mess to fix.
- They scratched my car and had to paint it, but the black paint doesn't match. Not sure how you can't match black.
- I used their shuttle to get to work, but they forgot to pick me up. Took an hour to come get me, maintenance dept was closing when I finally arrived.
I go to Kieffer Chrysler Jeep Dodge now for maintenence and I don't have any complaints.

I've had a great experience with Scott Clark Toyota. Salesmen are salesmen, but the service side has gone above and beyond on multiple occasions.

we’ve had a really really good experience with Carolina Auto Direct in Lincolnton—got an honest offer on a car we traded in and was probably the shortest amount of time we’ve ever spent in a car dealership. [link here ](https://www.carolinaautodirect.com) We will go back here the next time we need a car for sure!

I got a car from classic Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Pineville and that was about as painless as it possibly could have been.

Just our personal experience, but Subaru South Boulevard just wanted to push a sale and run credit. Online salesrep Bre made a good connection and got my mom in, but swapped us over to a sales person (don't remember his name) who failed to make us feel like he cared or was invested in helping us get a car that fit both budget and our family. He just pushed (very bad) bland lip service at us and repeatedly asked to run someone's credit despite being told no multiple times. (We really wanted to see what our financial institution would do for us.)
We went to Williams Subaru off Independence and I can't recommend Del Lucas enough. They too used an online person (Paul?) to reel us in, but they actually explained the transition between online to lot sales and Del was invested in us from the start. They really give a damn about their customers, respected that we wanted to try to obtain our own loan. We wound up with a new lease and it's excellent.
Edit for clarity.
