Desperately in Need of a Neurologist that deals with Migraines. 5 Times in the ER in 9 days with my 18 year old who can't seem to get a break. You guys have always been...

We used Dr. Mark Reichman in Salt Lake City when Jerry was diagnosed with an anuerysym on the brain stem, did a wonderful job with the surgery.
Jill B. replied:
Have you has an mri? And I would most certainly see a Dr. In SLC vs Logan. Dr. Karson Johnson at Alpine is very good at helping with migraines. He also does acupuncture as well as chiropractic care. Good luck.
Nancy H. replied:
Our daughter sees Dr Diana Banks in SLC. 801-261-4711. She's had an excellent experience. So sorry Good luck
Marlene S. replied:
Dr. Banks is great. But I do have one other option. Whole 30. You need to read the book (library has it) once you have gone through the 30 days start adding food he likes slowly. I was shocked what triggered mine.
Lisa N. replied:
I would recommend a Chiropractor as well. Dr Carlsen he also does acupuncture. I would also have his eyes and teeth checked as problems with either will trigger migranes with me.
Lisa R. replied:
I believe Dr. Williams is the only neurologist in Logan. He's awful. Don't waste your time or money. After trying every drug and treatment recommended to me, I changed my lifestyle. I eat six small meals, drink lots of water, got to bed/wake up at the same time, no caffeine. I went from 5-6/week with ER visits to once a month or less. Definitely go get it checked out. In the meantime be diligently healthy.
Karla C. replied:
Dr Steve Garvert at Spring Creek Medical in Providence. I'll call you tomorrow. smile emoticon
I know this is a long shot but I'm looking for a new neurologist. Preferably one who listens well, non judgmental, compassionate, willing to think outside the box. We're...

I see Glade and Dr. Taher at Nuerological Associates in American Fork. Glade is the nurse practitioner (he's working on his PhD in nursing). He is amazing.

I second Matthew Butrum. I've seen Taher and Glade. In my opinion, they do not think outside the box. Their staff screwed up my EEG so I had to do it twice. They had me on depacote and suspended my driving privileges. I lost my hair, my headaches worsen ed and i was blacking out. It was hard to just get out of bed. I got a second opinion from Butrum, he switched me to Topomax and I was able to start driving after 6 months being seizure free. He listens, he's compassionate and he's young which makes him more willing to do research. He's personable and kind. I go once a year to keep my license.
Katrina S. replied:
Kristen, always fun to play the "it's a small world" card, Kristy Hunter is my sister-in-law. ;)
Heather W. replied:
I saw Dr Taher. I'm pretty sure I really liked him, but admittedly I was dealing with a brain injury at the time and it's a little foggy in my memory.
Erin F. replied:
Dr Foley at Rocky Mountain MS clinic in SLC
Katrina S. replied:
I heard a couple years ago when I was still looking for a neuro that it was hard to get in with Dr. Foley. I think I even was on the waiting list, but found Dr. A in Provo before I could get in with Foley. He's supposed to be one of the best but doesn't always take new patients.? (Don't quote me on that.)
Katrina S. replied:
Dr. Altamirano is a neurologist who specializes in just about everything. ;)
Kindra H. replied:
I love Dr. Nguyen. I'm not sure what her first name is, but she is in A.F. I switched to her after going to Taher and I loved that she listened to me and was very thorough.
Karyn N. replied:
I go to the Neurological Associates in American Fork, Dr. Mohammad Taher. He's super nice and smart. I see him for severe Migraines and Vertigo. He's the only Neurologist that does Botox to treat Migraines in the entire area and it's the only thing that helps me. I've only seen him once, so we'll see.
Marquee W. replied:
Dr Groves at provo central Utah clinic. He also has an office in Murray. Or Dr Nguyen at central Utah clinic in American fork.
D.j. C. replied:
I only saw Dr. Taher several years ago when I was first diagnosed. The office has some issues, but I'm always happy with Glade. He listens to me. I went off all meds for three years and he respected that. I have MS too.
Kristen C. replied:
Hmm yes I've seen Taher and Andrew there at Neurological Associates. Not my favorite. But everyone is different. ;) I've also seen Dr Zimmerman and Dr Gasecki. I liked Gasecki but he basically gave up on me. I have chronic migraine and trigeminal neuralgia.
Matthew D. replied:
Dr. Matthew Butrum MD in Provo. He's very good and I'm willing to travel to him. He is everything you are asking for. http://intermountainhealthcare.org/.../Pages/home.aspx...
The neurologist finally called back this afternoon and they are trying a different seizure medicine. Praying that this one doesn't make him throw up. First dose at 10pm....

So found out Logan does suffer from migraines but because of his young age there is really no medication they can safely give him. So the dr gave us some recommendations...
