You can contact the queens psychology clinic for therapy, their fee is based on your income. You can also try calling frontenac mental health, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Hang in there.

Check out http://k3 c.org - counselling costs are on a sliding scale based on income.

If you have a family doctor, my first suggestion would be to visit him or her and talk about this. They can refer you to community resources for mental health (a lot of resources require a doctor's referral) and they can check to make sure there isn't a physical explanation for your stress, since lots of hormonal or chemical imbalances can make you feel overwhelmed or anxious. Otherwise, Frontenac Mental Health or Queen's Psychology Clinic might be your least expensive self-referred options.
Can anyone recommend a gender therapist with a sliding scale in London, ON? I can't afford $130/session, and Daya doesn't seem to have any gender therapists on staff.

I thought therapy was covered by OHIP. Can't you just ask your GP for a referral?
MaybeViolet replied:
Claire Salisbury may do some sliding scale from her $110 rate, definitely worth asking anyhow. If not she probably knows if there are any that do. A walk in clinic GP may also be able to help you there. There weren't a whole heck of a lot in London when I was looking last year, but I really liked Claire, for reference. https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/name/Claire_Salisbury_MSc,RP,CCC_London_Ontario_281497 And if you're in school or working, you may be covered.

To anyone in London, ON, if you're sure you want to transition, Dr. Martin uses the informed consent model (does not gatekeep and does not require a therapist letter). He can prescribe and is covered by OHIP. If you're in ON and have questions about T, top surgery, or transitioning in general, PM me. His info below > Dr. James Martin > Southern Ontario Fertility Technologies > 555 Southdale Rd, East, Suite 107 > (519) 685-5559 > http://soft-infertility.com/staff.php (second profile)
