http://matthewsanimalclinic.ca/ I prefer Dr. Eadie to Dr. Cox ... Dr. Eadie is very soft spoken and explains things in a way that is easy to understand, while not talking down to you or making you feel stupid for not knowing medical terms. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Cox is good too, I just prefer Eadie:)
Amanda G. replied:

Try https://www.facebook.com/700772183280412Clarke Animal Hospital thats our & I believe they do payment plans and they take emergencies
Amy S. replied:
Try Dr. Jack in Hyde Park, I am not 100% of his payment options but he is not only one of the best vets in the entire area, but I have heard he is reasonable and flexible. Dr. Jason in Argyle is also amazing, as mentioned above. Lastly, try East London Animal Hospital, they were extremely reasonable price wise and flexible when I had a shocking $1200+ emergency surgery.
Elizabeth C. replied:
I think most vets care about their clients; they just can't afford to be altruistic to every unknown who walks through the door. If your nieghbour lost his car and couldn't get to work, would you give him yours? What if 10 of your neighbours lost their cars? It is a business and one that comes with a high price tag literally (overhead) and figuratively (emotionally). I know there are some bad apples out there (500 bucks for a neuter???? Really????), but on the whole I think the profession gets an undeserved reputation for being money grubbing when in comes to animals in distress. http://www.care2.com/causes/why-is-the-suicide-rate-for-veterinarians-so-high.html

My two dogs see Dr. Galina at the LAV and she and the staff are absolutely wonderful! We did have rabies titre testing done as well there. Dr. Galina even followed up with me after blood tests and gave me the results as well as some suggestions for treatment alternatives that she took the time to research. I found their costs lower than the vet we had been seeing as well.

Contact East Village Animal Hospital (EVAH), on Dundas near Argyle mall - 519-455-3824. They open at 9 this morning. They only help pet parents who earn under 35,000 a year. I drove a friend there with her cat and they were super nice, really fair to deal with, and took great care of her cat.
glarpglorp replied:
Caveat: I've got about 4 days worth of experience and exactly one vet I've been to, so you can take this recommendation for what it's worth, which isn't much!
Just got a new dog last week and I settled on VCA Canada Northdale at Adelaide/Huron. Had an initial visit and a follow up so far and the staff have been very friendly. They offer a year plan that I signed up for that has saved me cash upfront, don't know how economical it is overall as I have nothing to compare it to.. but it's $56/month and has already covered about $300 worth of services for that amount so far. So, in the long run I don't know the value but the initial savings are nice. Covered the full exam, shots, poop check, nail clipping and some parasite meds that he needed after the poop check found a parasite.
Staff were great, the vet was great, everyone treated the little guy well. Good experience for a first timer. Again, I have nothing to compare this to, but overall I've been very satisfied with them so far.

Oxford Animal Clinic is open 7 days a week and takes walk ins! When my cat got sick last year despite me never seeing them before they got me in the next day and were nothing but super kind and helpful. They were fairly affordable too. edit: walk-ins is really more “new patients at short notice” i would definitely recommend calling first

I’d recommend the London Cat Clinic! We went there after going to another more general vet and the prices were very comparable and our cats got better care :) plus they have a lab on site so bloodwork is done quicker and for cheaper.

A hip replacement can run you $10,000 per hip it is expensive but check it out first my figures depends on the surgery. Dr. Fraser in Komoko he does not do a replacement but he can do a special surgery too help to take the pain away it is going to depend how bad the hip is. Check it out worth looking into if not it will be Guelph or Toronto. I know someone is in the same situation but so far theyare doing great but the procedure has been offered to them when needed
Nancy C. replied:
I don't know if this is applicable but how about a dog chiropractor? ( or at least a consultation). A friend's shepherd has done well. Chiropractic saved my dog's life ... A bulging disc in her spine was so painful, we could not bare to watch her cry in pain and meds didn't help. After only one visit, she was 90% better! I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it. That was 5 years ago and she is still doing well with regular 'maintenance ' visits. Dr. Robert Folkard.
Peggianne W. replied:
Dr. Gary Bouck at the London VEC is the very best!
LeeAnn M. replied:
hip replacement is extremely expensive you are looking at $ 10,000 per hip or more. For Chiropractor be careful works for some not all I had a very bad experience with my yellow lab if you are going to do it make sure you have xrays so they can see what they are dealing with. Check out Dr Frasier in Komoko he does not do hip replacements but may be able to do a different surgery to help your dog out of pain. He is an excellent surgeon. I know someone that is her next step when it gets to much to handle.to take her dog out of pain. Worth checking out
Alicia F. replied:
I highly doubt that EVAH does orthopedic surgery. Dr. Bouck on Adelaide (same place as VEC). OVC (Guelph) does, MOVEC (Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Clinic) probably does. I highly recommend MOVEC. One of my dogs is a blood donor there, they are extremely nice and really care about the animals. In my experience, they're usually the same or cheaper than OVC.
