I have been going to Deli Cleaners in Bixby Plaza, 3551 Atlantic and they are great! Friendly, quick, and they do an excellent job.
Leslie H. replied:
We use Bixby Knolls Cleaners on Atlantic, and have always been satisfied.
I am need of a local dry cleaner and am hoping to find a good one here in our neighborhood. Any recommendations? Places you love? Shops I should stay away from? ...

Pamela K. Johnson the seamstress that Kelly was speaking about is European Tailoring Address: 497 W Willow St Phone:(562) 424-0245. We use her whenever we need tailoring. Cash only but good work.
Fritz P. replied:
I use Willow Cleaners and have been for years. It's so much easier to park there than at the magnolia/willow cleaners.
Kim T. replied:
I use Willow Cleaners. So far, so good. Inexpensive, but cash up front for discount.
Kelly L. replied:
I also like the little Korean woman at Spotless. Seems disorganized sometimes and cash only is a drag, but no problems, except with a repair that she didn't do such a great job on (use the seamstress next door). Anyway, she's also funny and quirky and kind of charming when you get to know her. I also use Willow Cleaners (other side of Willow) and they are fine too. Good luck!
Lily M. replied:
Well, drat. I used Willow Cleaners and they almost ruined one of my dresses. Shame on me for not examining it before leaving (though they did hide it behind another dress), but they nearly trashed the embellishment on the front. They also failed to press the pleats into the skirt, opting to press them about five inches down and not the length. I've learned MY lesson!
Colleen D. replied:
I use Olympic Cleaners on Pacific Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Kim are very nice and have been there 30 years. They have a shop on Pacific with a drive thru window 50's style (2000 block on the west side).
Andrew D. replied:
Lily, sorry to hear about your ruined dress! I tried Willow Cleaners when we first moved in and never went back after I noticed they stapled (yes stapled!) inventory tracking slips to all my dress shirts.
Lily M. replied:
Yep, Andrew Downin, they did the same to my dress. Not one, but THREE staples. *sigh*
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good tailor and dry cleaner? I don't have to use them often and I never know what a fair rate is. Thanks!
Greta H. replied:
I use national cleaners on cherry just south of wardlow. No complaints and they are reasonably priced. Plus there are coupons on their website. http://www.national-cleaners.com/3304_cherry_ave/coupons.cfm
Lily M. replied:
Willow Cleaners nearly ruined a dress I gave them to dry clean. While the dress did have some known discoloration, they used that to claim that all the damage they did was also pre-existing. Perhaps most annoying the dress featured a heavily pleated skirt. They only pressed the first four inches of pleats leaving the rest for me to have to do at home.
Laura B. replied:
Willow and Magnolia. She does great alterations for a good price.
Veronica O. replied:
Thanks everyone. I've been using Willow Cleaners, luckily no mishaps yet, because they are super nice, take credit cards and give you a 20% discount if you pay when you drop off your items but it felt expensive. I will check out your tailor Laura. What is her name?
Fritz P. replied:
Willow Cleaners for dry cleaning and the woman on Magnolia and Willow for alterations. Willow Cleaners takes cards now, the alteration lady does not.
