Good Morning! Today I start to Pediatrician Hunt. I am looking for your pediatrician suggestions in the Orlando / Winter Park area, please! Any feedback will be...
Alex T. replied:
Dr. Joseplh A. Cannizzaro, MD 357 Wekiva Springs Rd, Longwood, FL 32779 (407) 862-1163 Years of experience and he is amazing! Worth the trip over there.
Jason O. replied:
My sister strongly suggests the Franz center . Dr. Franz is the best she has tried and she went through 5 pediatricians until she found her. Its on S. Orange Avenue. The Franz Center
Kim B. replied:
Our family doctor, who I have stayed with for about 20 years now despite his office moving from Winter Park to Oviedo, despite my move from Winter Park to Altamonte is pheenomenal. He sees all three of us and I just cannot say enough good things. His name is Dr Chase and he is at Block, Nation, Chase and Smolen. I know it's out of your preferred radius, but I would be remiss if I didn't recommend him. I never wait and he actually talks and listens and does research etc
John A. replied:
Dr Ryan Pediatrics Associates of Orlando on Mills, great people we've had Lincoln there since birth. Office hours on Saturday and Sunday for emergencies. Also very helpful when you just need to call in to ask a question, which helps avoid a visit some times.
Carrie L. replied:
Reid goes to Interlachen Pediatrics in Winter Park, we see doctor Smith and sometimes Dr. Holston. We love everyone there and there is always someone on call to talk to 24/7. We interviewed a lot of places but fell in love with everyone there!
Julie P. replied:
Dr Middleton- Middleton pediatrics
Chadwick D. replied:
We use Dr Middleton Middleton Pediatrics. They have been great from the start, and the nurses are very open to discussing things over the phone before simply requesting a visit.
Kim B. replied:
Dr Middleton is great on Marks St
Kim H. replied:
We liked Dr Chong in College Park, hes on Vassar
Kim H. replied:
He was recommended to us by all of the nurses at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies
Erin A. replied:
The good pediatricians will let you interview them & will let you know what to expect from their practice. I would try out a couple & then go with what your instincts tell you. We love our pediatrician, Dr Ryan but this is a very personal decision. Interviewing, seeing the office & getting referrals from friends is the best way to go. Keep in mind with smaller practices, if they aren't open on weekends (your kid will always be sick when the office is closed...Murphy's law...) you will end up at the ER because you're worried. Also, make sure they have a triage phone line. We have used ours many times and they have given us advice & we didn't have to actually visit.
Heather U. replied:
Pediatric associates on mills. Dr Britton is our favorite. My best friend has been using them for the past 13 years for her kids and so did my sister in law. The building is horrible and needs a make over but I love dr Britton plus you can walk there from the building if you really wanted.
ISO best pediatricians in deltona orange city area. who accept medicaid. I have not received an MMA plan for my baby (due in 6 days.) But I plan to put her on staywell....
Heidi M. replied:
I don't deal with staywell but long leaf pediatrics in orange city on Burch St. By Gram's kitchen on 17-92. Dr. Burns is a good doctor
AnnaMarie S. replied:
Sandra Dee...no. It's not really her, it's the people she hires. SUPER rude, shows not an ounce of compassion, and I just want to smack the one that looks like she was just released from prison. She's totally gross. If you can stand being around those kind of people, take your child there. You see Dr. Dee for about two minutes, the others longer. It's up to you. Lake Mary Pediatrics is spectacular! Clean facility, wonderful staff, and just a great office.
Candy B. replied:
I use Dr. Jag at longwood Pediactrics. he's in longwood off of 434 he accepts medicaid and is a wonderful doctor! A little bit of a drive but exceptional care for your little one.
Veronica B. replied:
My daughter has seen Dr. Sandra Dee for 3 years now. She is amazing with her and most of her staff is great. I know some people have complained about her but I've never had a problem with her. She never rushes with my daughter, listens to what I have to say, offers alternatives to prescription medication, and always "plays" with my daughter. If you have a good attitude toward your doctor, they will have a great attitude towards you and take care of you. Just saying. Oh and my daughter has Staywell too.
Christine A. replied:
Sandra Dee
Megan M. replied:
Dr Shukla!
Christina J. replied:
Dr Shukla is amazing!
Alyssa A. replied:
Highly recommend Sandra Dee, Stages Pediatric Care. I know she takes Medicaid and United But I'm not sure about Staywell
Theresa S. replied:
Central FL pediatrics takes Staywell, not sure they're accepting new medicaid patients though
Fan Question:
"I'm a more natural parenting mommy and I'm looking for a good pedi in the central FL area for both my children.
I plan to exclusively breastfeed, not...

Elizabeth P. replied:
Dr. David Carr at Pediatrics Plus is very pro-breast feeding and intact friendly. We vax, so I don't know the practice's position on that subject. The are located south of downtown.
Karen G. replied:
I used doctors in Winter Haven. Dr. Whitworth and her partner, forgot his name, but he is from Germany, I think they are the most progressive docs in the area.
Melissa L. replied:
In the Saint Petersburg area, Dr. Salomon is good. He is very friendly to full-term breastfeeding, is supportive of leaving sons intact and respects parents wishes to delay or opt out of vaccinations at any time. The only issue is that his official...See More

Thanks everyone. Hopefully, I won't yet need the doctor but need to get Riley into the dentist soon. I'll look into Dr. Spencer, Jess.:)
Lori P. replied:
We have used several pediatricians -- since we lived in several places -- and by far, Dr. Thomas Alber was my favorite (and David's). He was wonderful and I highly recommend him. Dr. Carlos Bertot was his dentist -- and he was great, too. He's in Maitland, but it was worth the 15-20 minute drive.
Lori P. replied:
Tina -- dr. alber is at Lake Mary pediatrics, too -- they're apparently all good there! Sorry to hear he's got strep, but at least now you know he'll be better in two days.
In need of a Pediatrician or Family Doctor in the area. Any recommendations or suggestions?
Tony T. replied:
Dr. Finer right behind Petty's has been a great pediatrician for us.
Lara T. replied:
Another vote for Dr. Finer. Love his style - respectful while being very straightforward. And personally I love that he doesn't over subscribe, so when he does, we listen.
Michelle C. replied:
Dr Cannezarro off Wekiva sps rd near Fairwinds credit union

I second Dr. Finer. He is excellent.
Melissa H. replied:

Dr. Howard Finer is AMAZING!! Dr. Alfonso Mireles is also AMAZING!!
Pa O. replied:
I love pediatrician Dr. Neal Silverstein in Altamonte. I'm very picky when it comes to my kids and I stuck with him for over 12 years now. The entire staff is great.
Does anyone recommend any vaccine friendly pediatricians? Or even know of any in the area?
Rachel B. replied:
Sunshine Pediatrics in Maitland
Jason S. replied:
We use Dr Finer. He is right next to Pettys. They are very friendly there and are willing to work with us on the vaccine schedule. He will go off of the recommended schedule unless you ask. We only do two at a time and they are fine with it. They allow you to come in between visits for shots if you want them.
