Wow LA is starting to suck, both of the expendable stores are closed on Saturday now, Mole Studio Store and Film Tools. The only electronics store left, Pacific Radio,...

True, I buy a fair amount online just because I can't find it locally. A tragedy really. I usually end up at All Electronics since they are open on Sat and Sun with the harder to find stuff ordered online.

Not electronics but I was surprised to see another Expendable store in Burbank last Thursday. I was driving North/East away from Contract Services. Bunch of Gators parked in front

I would hate to suggest Fry's .Electronic City in Burbank is closed too .That is where we got materials to build all our gel cells for cameras..

We have Net Electronics in Downey but I am not sure if they are open on Saturday.

Do anyone know of a site thats similar to Amazon for Australia? The shipping charges are crazy on Amazon to get something shipped here. Or do anyone know of a used...
Sandy P. replied:
Not as good as Amazon, but fishpond.com.au is one site, also eBay au has some things
Brady M. replied:
kogan.com has some pretty good deals on electronics
Jake H. replied:
Welcome to Australia. You didn't think there was a premium price to live here? I've had some good and bad experiences buying books off fishpond.com.au, which usually ships for free. I've had only good experiences with bookdepository.com, which also has free shipping to Aus from the UK. However, what I really missed is buying used books on Amazon for next to nothing plus only 3 or 4 bucks shipping. I once sent a used book to a friend within Sydney as a gift for 10+ AUD when I spent only 5USD, including shipping, for it in the US. And I posted it to their work, which was only 30 minute walk away (sounds stupid to post when so close but I had to).
Does anyone have any recommendations for a 27"(at least) pivoting monitor? Any good deals around? HALP. URGENT.

Where is the best electronics store in the area ? You know, the way Radio Shack was 40 years ago, with all the little specialty connectors and diodes and all.

Green PC off of South Tacoma Way is a great, little store for rebuilt PCs and parts.
Brendan M. replied:
Chad Burroughs, RatShack has turned into an overpriced smartphone & battery store that just happens to have a very small selection of electronic components. Your only choice around here is probably Fry's.
