Alex B. replied:
Marcie Lavigne at Coal Creek Family Medicine. She is totally down to earth, doesn't push antibiotics and respectful if your approach is different then mainstream. Office staff and other docs are great too. They have good hours (late nights and Saturday).
Sheron H. replied:
Cornerstone pediatrics....love, love Dr Bucknam and Dr Jordan.... The staff is great and always accommodating. My son was a preemie and has been hospitalized twice within a year of life....had an amazing care from our doctors. Surprise to hear that a mom here mentioned they push antibiotics....never had an issue like that.... They have meet and greet the doctors...call their office.... I think you should really give them a try.... Good luck!
Tammy M. replied:
We love Steve Fries at Boulder Medical Center-Foothills. We've been seeing him with our 4 kids for 21 years. He's one of the smartest doctors I've had, and he respects my wishes. He's not quick with antibiotics, is great with kids, and isn't full of himself like some docs. My kids had eczema too, and he knew it was related to food allergies.
Kristen K. replied:
Dr Lauren Brave in Boulder Community Hospital - Foothills. Good luck with the move!
Lisa W. replied:
http://www.myfamilydoctor.us/ Lila was helpful and natural leaning. Also, my son had eczema here and there from ages 8-11 months and each time I switched up his formula (he is mostly off of it now and gets his nutrition from good food) it cleared up. Was bright red then gone within days of going to diff formula. Eczema is usually an allergy or there is something the body is trying to clear out as you might know. Welcome to the 80027, best zip code ever
Christine S. replied:
Cornerstone Pediatrics at Avista 303-673-9030. Wonderful doctors!
Heather L. replied:
Welcome! I would avoid Dr. Bucknam/ Cornerstone Pediatrics at Avista if you prefer someone more natural. They tend to recommend antibiotics right away (even though if you ask at a "meet the doctors" night, they claim they don't) and they get touchy when you ask about wait and see or other alternatives.
Maryanne F. replied:
My only hesitation with Cornerstone is they only have one female pediatrician and you have to call at least a month in advance to get an appt for a well visit. That said, my son loves Dr. Jordan and I take him there. For my daughter, I use Centennial Valley Peds on McCaslin -- more laid back, mostly women, easier to get in, and we use a CNP (longer appts) rather than an MD and my daughter is really connected to her. If you have a baby girl and want her to have a woman-to-woman connection with a female doctor as she moves into puberty (I know, thinking WAAAAY ahead here, but it's important), start with a woman now.
Tiffany T. replied:
Cornerstone Pediatrics, Karrin Mezarina she's the best and this practice is far above any here in our local area.
Anita V. replied:
Cornerstone pediatrics and Dr Bucknam are awesome. We've been going for there for almost 15 years. All the doctors are great. Never had a problem getting in quickly whether sick or well visit. Well visit takes a bit longer of course . Never been pushed antibiotics, actually opposite. Friendly, honest, comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Bucknam is local went to Fairview hs!
Jackie Z. replied:
Roy Steinbock, Mindful Peds, Boulder.
Rebecca H. replied:
He's not in the oh oh 27, but we see Dr. Roy Steinbock at Mindful Pediatrics in East Boulder. We love him. Totally open to alternative medicine, doesn't jump to antibiotics, etc.
Dawn L. replied:
Cornerstone Pediatric and Dr. Miller, but all the docs in the practice are good and great with kids.
Melissa W. replied:
We switched from Cornerstone Pediatrics to Centennial Valley and love them.
Shannon K. replied:

We love Dr Bucknam at Cornerstone Pediatrics at Avista Hospital. He helped write the Babywise books, if you are familiar with those.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pediatrician that takes medicaid? We have had a handful of ridiculousness at Clinica- I would like a good Dr. for my kiddos!...
Cathy C. replied:
Research Boulder Medical on So Boulder Rd just west of 287. I use them for my adult care and they have ped docs.
Mindy V. replied:
My family doctor, Dr. Lila Rosenthal, wonderful caring doctor. Takes medicade.
Jennifer W. replied:
A couple clarifications I happen to know about: Dr. Heather Fliege takes CHP+ but doesn't take Medicaid. And from what I understand, Boulder Medical Center/ Dr. Cheryl Cavanaugh doesn't accept Medicaid from new patients, but only from patients who are already under their care. Good luck finding someone!

Try Exempla family they are good. Just south of hospital.
Debbie L. replied:
Centennial Valley Pediatrics. They have offices in Louisville and Erie, and they take Tricare (military) which is similar to Medicaid. Been with them for years. Give them a call! http://www.cvpeds.com/
Brooke D. replied:
Did you have Dr Alex at Clinica? We really love him!!!!!
Lisa E. replied:
Boulder medical center, dr Cavanaugh! Great office located at Avista hospital
I asked this awhile back, still looking. I need pediatrician, female doc, in an office where I see the same doc every visit. Prefer Louisville.

Emily W. replied:
We switched to the female doc (that Kim is referring to above) for my daughter as well. Karrin Mezarina. She's great! Cornerstone Pediatrics at Avista. 303-673-9030. (And my son still sees David Steitz at same practice.)
Barb K. replied:
We are very happy with Dr Gonzalez at Broomfield Pediatrics. Girls have seen her since 4 th grade (previous Dr moved to CA) The practice is v responsive. It's a bit of a drive but she is terrific - call me if you have questions. Good luck.
Mary B. replied:
Dr. Maureen Dickerson at BMC Avista. Has been wonderful with Meredith for 10 years now.
Kim S. replied:
Bets we are switching to the female doc at Cornerstone Pediatrics - first visit isn't until later this month - if you still need one I'lll let you know...
David H. replied:
We use Cheryl Cavnanaugh at Boulder Medical Center Avista. Her office is right next to Avista hospital.
Ugh. Our pediatrician's office has closed its doors for good. So sad. We'd hoped to get in a new doc but apparently they couldn't find someone or didn't want to keep it...
Mary B. replied:
(303)666-2720 Make sure you tell her you are our friends!
Emily W. replied:
We love Cornerstone Pediatrics and my kids have been with Dr. Steitz since birth, and Sophie recently switched to their female pediatrician Dr. Mezarina and she's great. www.cornerstonepeds.co

We love Maureen Dickerson at Avista!
Michelle H. replied:
Did you hear more this evening? I went in just at 5 p and there were some negotiations still going on. But thinking about and asking about a new doc is always a good idea. I like Marcie Lavigne at Coal Creek. Molly recommended her:-) BTW, Molly wants to go out for Margaritas with us ha ha!
Does anyone have a pediatrician in the area that you'd recommend? Thanks!
Teri K. replied:
Cornerstone Ped at Avista Hospital. All the docs are awesome.
Aileen G. replied:
Boulder Medical Center (offices at Avista Hospital and at Foothills I think). Can't say enough good things about Dr. Cavanaugh. Level headed, practical, caring. Love her!

Ok, CO friends, Pediatrician recommendations? Just found out Cornerstone Peds does not accept our new BCBS insurance (that I did not WANT, but HAD to enroll in because...

Dr G. at centennial valley pediatrics is amazing 303-666-7337
Angie R. replied:
We see Arvada Pediatric Associates North The office is in Broomfield, go figure.
Corinne B. replied:
Michelle Sarazin Elings, we picked a bronze plan, because frankly the silver plans were just too expensive on a monthly basis. Like 3 x the amount we were used to paying. Our bronze plan is about $300 more a month and now we can't use our same doctors. Seems fair to me. (Note the heavy sarcasm there.)
Lora N. replied:
Dr Baumgartner at Boulder Medical Center foothills.
Weston B. replied:
Jan Baker Steitz, that would be AWESOME!!!! Besides getting to stick with David Steitz, I could then reduce my seething
