Could anyone point me in the right direction for some cheap/wholesale furniture places? Really needing to find a sectional and entertainment center for my living room....
Laura S. replied:
We have gotten good prices at Winner Furniture.

I think if you find furniture somewhere you like you can go to Winners Furniture and they will order it for you at a cheaper price.
I'm looking for a decently priced furniture store that I can buy a full size bedroom set at? Does anyone have any recommendations?
Deborah S. replied:
It has been many years since I purchased furniture, but you may want to check out Value City Furniture at 3426 Preston Hwy. I was also told that Big Lotts is now carrying furniture on New Cut Rd. Depending on your style/budget, you also may want to check some of the antique stores around. Many times, you can find some good deals on 1930's style bedroom suits. Some like to refinish/paint and others like to mix/match for a more eclectic look. I know antiques are not everyone's style but just thought I would mention it just in case. Winner Furniture is still in Shively and Furniture Liquidators is located on Indian Trail. I have also seen a Fitzpatrick's Furniture on Preston Hwy. but have not been in. Ashley Furniture has nice things and they are located besides Jefferson Mall (in the area between J-Mall and the Target Store). I also know that Schmidt Furniture carries nice furniture as well, they are in New Albany.
Gina T. replied:
Furniture Liquidators on Indian Trail. Very reasonable, current styles, huge selection. Ask for Rick. Very friendky and knowledgeable. They are accommodating and will not bother you as you browse. Second choice is Louisville Overstock, but they are across town and a bit pricier, delivery charges are higher as well, but they have numerous upscale choices.
Lee K. replied:
I have never heard a good thing about value city furniture,, Basset furniture is awesome ask for Rose Marie

We've bought a lot of furniture at Estate sales and we just bought a great Heywood Wakefield midcentury modern dresser for about $350 at Crazy Daisy on Mellwood. This is all dovetailed drawers, 12 drawers and solid birch. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/50/59/2 f/50592 fb6 e518 e22 e96 b47 b1863526514.jpg You can buy a new one of these for about $2000. My advice, by an old set and get better quality the new stuff is all laminate and foil over particle board.
Gary G. replied:
The dealer that had that dresser has stuff at various places around town and it's quality stuff ... here's his facebook page .. https://www.facebook.com/MoesFabulousFinds/

I bought my couch at Winner Furniture last year. It is an Ashley couch that I paid less for than if I had gone to Ashley. They are very reasonably priced and they even helped with financing.
Jim C. replied:
Go to Winner Furniture on Dixie by the Walmart and Thorntons in Valley Station and ask for Tj Moreschi. He is a good guy who is working hard for his family and will help you out.
Ashley C. replied:
I got mine set from Furniture Liquadators and it is durable. American Freight is awful. I'm currently shopping for a dining room table and got get customer service in Emmett's off Flintlock and Lori from Furniture Liq. I went into Refurnish i think its called next to Kroger and the customer service was awful. I'll never go there again.

Be careful with this that you don't get bed bugs... You can deinvest the furniture before you take it into your house. Girards @ Kingston and Third St. has the correct chemicals to do this. There is a place on Bardstown RD next to the Home Made Pie and Kitchen. Don't remember the name, There is the DAV store on Berry Blvd. Also Try the Virtual Yard Sale on Facebook. There is a place down on Frankfort Ave between the Nancy's Bagel shop, and some sort of Antique restoration place. They have some great furniure.. Located Below Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center. 1860 Mellwood Ave - Louisville, KY 40206 502-895-1306. Mall Hours: Sunday ... Industrial, Victorian, and period antiques in the Louisville area. Fine china, sterling silver, jewelry, pottery, clocks, coins, jade, ivory, figurines, signs ... And if you do not like the price, you can bargain with them... You do not personally talk to the person, but Mellwood will contact the owner and see if they will accept your price, then they contact you.... Good Luck. Happy Hunting.
