We use Nashoba Valley Vet Hospital in Westford. They are great and much, much cheaper and less upsell than Countryside where we used to go.
Kathy H. replied:
We went to Nashoba Valley Veterinary Hospital for many years. They are great!
Pamela D. replied:
We like Westford Animal Hospital a lot. The vets (especially Vickrey) take a ton of time to explain things in as much technical detail as you want. We go A LOT (cat with kidney disease (now deceased, but lasted a long time under their care), an elderly jerk of a cat (whom we love dearly, even though he hates us, and Nora Who Eats Weird Stuff And Gets X-Rays A Lot.)
Melissa L. replied:
Starwood vet out of groton. He makes house calls so you dont have to deal with the trama of transporting your pets. Dr Baran has been my vet for 13 years. I currently have 5 pets that he services
Marie S. replied:
Emily my friend gets her cat's insulin at Target Pharmacy..I vaguely remember her saying something about it being much cheaper there...it might not hurt to call and check it out if you haven't already....
Eliane C. replied:
I go to Littleton Animal Hospital. We had a diabetic cat and I would get the Lantus at CVS at about $120.00 a few years back. I would go ahead and get an emergency prescription asap. Your cat will probably have some sort of episode and will need to be seen anyway. That will cost you much more.
Jakki H. replied:
We *love* Nashoba Valley Veterinary Hospital. The staff and vets give very personal care, and their prices are comparatively reasonable. They're kind of far for us, but once we found them (we adopted a dog who was under their care after a car accident over 20 years ago), we switched to that practice, and two decades later we're devoted.

If you don't mind the drive, you can go to Chicago Ridge animal welfare. It's right off of 294, so not a bad drive at all. I don't know how much it cost, but it's worth a call. They are super nice and usually very well priced. The number is 708-636-8586.

Chris R. replied:
We just used Hebron Animal hospital for this very thing last month. Was the kindest and most respectful service. Our price was about 300 for the euthanizing as well as the cremation. They gave us all the time and privacy we wanted through the process. For the cremation, they send the body to a creamatory, you get a hair clipping, paw prints, paw impression and the ashes came in a very nice box engraved with his name and dates also.

I have an emergency. My blue pit all of a sudden started loosing balance and falling over. He won't react to sound or touch when he fell asleep. I don't have the money...
Alyssa M. replied:
It's called Calumet Emergency Vet Clinic. I had to take my cat there back in May. They did not make us pay anything until the end and it wasn't outrageously expensive.
Alyssa M. replied:
There is an emergency vet clinic in Schererville where you can apply for Care Credit
Alyssa M. replied:
Calumet does Care Credit which is pretty much payments. Except you aren't paying the vet you are paying a creditor.
Ka'tlyn N. replied:
Many places like emergency clinics probably won't have payment plans due to the fact you probably won't go back there for a "follow up" vs going to your normal vet. It's worth a try. Recommend North Central Veterinary in Highland. They may be a carrier of care credit plans
Gwen R. replied:
662-5600 is my vet Carrie LaMere Anderson. Say gwen referred you (she is a friend) And is in crown point. See if she'll do payment plans. She is awesome!!!!
Donna W. replied:
So sorry. I myself don't know of any that would do that. I'm pretty sure none will but they will tell you to try Care Credit. It's really sad that none of them take care of your pets like back in the day. It's all about the money and not your pet's care. Schereville Emergency Vet wants money up front from my own experience. Calumet not sure of never used them.
My dog is in a lot of pain and can't move her back legs!! I need a vet ASAP! But don't have the money right now!! Is there any vet that anyone know of that will make...

Hebron out by truck stop or Rensselaer Pet Care. Both have been very good to us and have very reasonable prices. Rensselaer may be a little cheaper if you are willing to drive there. They have been so good to my critters and even sanitied the floor for my puppy because they knew he didn't have any shots yet and had a low immunity.
