I don't wear contacts, so I don't know about that part, but I like Dr. Valerie VandenBoom at Eye Contact on Mineral Point.

Dr. Emmerich at Target in Fitchburg. He's really great and I have really tough eyes.

I went to John BV for years as well. I eventually was turned off by his strong-arm sell tactics. Dave Emmerich is Bonsett-Veal but without the scary sell tactics. And, he's anything but odd.

Kelsey Barnes at GHC Fitchburg is an excellent optometrist, particularly with contacts.

Dr Levi is great both of mine now see her but the only "child ophthalmologist" in the area is in east Alton we went to him a few times when they were younger. He is a little strange and office looks old and run down but he is very good

If you are looking for an optometrist (as opposed to an ophthalmologist) I would recommend Dr. Heather Hinson of Hinson Family Vision. Don't be put off that their practices are located in Wal-Mart, she is also a low vision specialist who does the low vision exams at Vision Forward (formerly Badger Association) here in Milwwaukee. As a bonus, her husband Doug is also an optometrist, he specializes in contacts, especially hard to fit contacts. They will go the extra mile for you! I see them at the Wal-Mart on 27 th street, it is actually in Franklin. I can look up the phone number for you if you want. Phillip Mason knows them, too.

If you are able...Dr. Bradfiled at UW health Madison is good. My daughter sees her.

Wright Vision Care. I think they just opened a second location.
