Great Maryanne Matteo, we, in the industry, love to hear that feedback. It is so much fun making people happy and believe me when we provide group rates for individuals, extra on board credits, excursions or find Disney and other land deals, people are happy!! It's a fun job!!

Janice Hong Messier if you are booking air only (business trip or staying with family/friends at your destination), there is generally no real advantage to using a travel agent as the rates are what they are. Sometimes, if you are booking well in advance, a Travel Agent may be able to get you consolidator rates, but still not a huge advantage on domestic air. That being said, there is a tremendous advantage to using a travel agent - not just any, but a knowledgeable one. Number One is that there is no additional cost to you. The suppliers, not the passengers, pay the travel agents for selling their travel. As part of the largest seller of travel in the U.S, we have access to amenities to which you would not have otherwise had access in addition to what the cruise line or resort is offering. We have a network of over 800 franchise owners to reach out to for valid reviews vs. a lot of on-line companies that may not have validated their reviews or perhaps even pay for their reviews. We also have access to block space and group rates that can be offered to individuals (a.k.a. cheaper rates). There are promotions that run which include free parking at selected ports, free prepaid gratuities, up to $100 back on shore excursions, complimentary specialty dinners, additional on board credits. On the land side, there are often air credits, free dining options, VIP access to the major Sightseeing Must Sees, etc. The cost of a hotel room or cruise cabin is set by the supplier. The value add of your travel agent can add up to significant savings. Also, if something goes awry while you are traveling, you have a person to call who will be able to help. Try finding your on-line operator again!! Check out our site. If I can ever help you, I would be happy to do so. Also, with every booked and departed vacation, we donate back to The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter and/or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. That comes out of our pocket as we feel it is important to give back.

We have attended the Disney College of Knowledge, Certified in Caribbean and Alaska Travel, Globus & Monograms Graduate, which includes Mediterranean & Baltics as well as Costa Rica. We have access to worldwide travel, and I have resources to reach out to for questions on South America (Machu Picchu in Peru is a Hot Spot right now) and Asia, but I do not claim to be an expert in those areas. Your best deals are going to be with a cruise or a land tour (don't let the word "tour" dissuade you - there are companies that range from traditional guided tour to basically on your own with a local host to help you as a resource - all hotels are 4 or 5 star with a tremendous amount of free time on your own). I just quoted a Honeymoon in Costa Rica - 8 days included all hotels (Remember they are 4 & 5 Star), RT air from Phila, transfers, transportation from city to city, 5 tours with VIP access, 16 breakfasts (typically cost $25-$30 each), 6 lunches, 6 dinners, San Juan, Lake Arenal Volcano, Monteverde, Guanacaste etc. They have the ability to go soak in Hot Springs, Tour Volcano Trails, Hanging Bridges, Zip Lining, Visit a National Park with Toucans and Monkeys and end up relaxing on th ebeach before flying home. I'm jealous!!
