My 11 year old son wants to play an instrument (saxs) any suggestions on the instrument and or lessons.

I've found that alto is probably the easiest to start out on. Plus one thing I would try to remind parents when I taught - remember, your child has to drag this thing around with them... on the bus... to and from places... altos are smaller. Your son can always transition to another sax over time. I did. I played them all. Charlie Parker. Enough said. ;)

Phil Hansen who teaches out of Music Trader at 4 corners is great for really learning how to read music and play the guitar (not just tabs). My son has been getting lessons with him for 2 years!

I second Daces Rock N More they have a great staff an extended band program that groups students together and teaches them to play cohesively as band.
