Welcome! are you on Maplewoodonline.com yet?? you can search for those things and find many answers! are you in the Swap/Meet SOMa group on facebook? some people have been asking these questions there and there are a lot more people in that group. when I moved her 15 years ago there was an active newcomers club that met in person once a month. I'm sorry that doesn't exist anymore!!

REPOSTED FROM MOL I wanted to put out a strong recommendation for a handyman that has basically lived at my house the past 9 months, getting it ready to put on the market. Geovanny has painted walls, fixed tiles, spackled holes, replaced floorboards, scrubbed bricks, installed crown molding, and taken apart bunk beds and rebuilt them into twins. He built a closet into my daughter's room and matched the 1909-molding perfectly. It looks 100% authentic. He installed a baseboard heater and manged to get all the wires in the walls without ripping everything to shreds. He MacGuyver'ed floorboards out of an attic and replaced them with modern flooring, refinished the old ones, and replaced broken ones with the refinished original pumpkin pine. Most importantly, he's resourceful, respectful, punctual and kind to my kids. He's also VERY reasonably priced and I recommend him wholeheartedly.
