This is an old message but you could call the numbers and check... NO-COST SPAY AND NEUTER VOUCHERS GET A SPAY AND NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP) VOUCHER ON THE SAME DAY (Phoenix – September 12). Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) will be at Under One Woof, located at the MetroCenter Mall near Sears, to hand out no-cost Spay and Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) vouchers on Saturday, September 15. This event is sponsored by the Lulu’s Fund, part of the Timothy T. Day Foundation. MCACC would like to thank the Timothy T. Day Foundation and the contributions by the Lulu’s Fund for the help and dedication towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs and cats in our community. MCACC Staff will start the event at 10am to 2pm handing out the applications for a SNAP voucher along with a listing of participating clinics. The normal wait time for a voucher to arrive is six to eight weeks; however, this event will allow pet owners quick access to a voucher. “This is the first time pet owners will be able to turn in a SNAP voucher application and walk away with a Spay Neuter voucher in hand,” said Mark Soto, Medical Outreach Supervisor. Soto said MCACC has 72 participating clinics utilizing the SNAP vouchers to help control the over population of pets in Maricopa County. “This is a good opportunity for pet owners to get their pets sterilized at no cost to them,” he said. Soto said there will be two additional dates offering the same service: September 19 - MCACC West Shelter, located on 2500 South 27th Avenue, from 2pm to 6pm. September 20 - MCACC East Shelter, located at 2630 West 8th Street in Mesa, from 2pm to 6pm. Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Max Wilson encourages pet owners to take full advantage of this unique opportunity to help control the pet population in Maricopa County by participating for a no-cost spay and neuter voucher. Welcome to Maricopa. Sounds like the snake beat me to it. Pet Social Worker has all sorts of adoptable pets listed. The link I shared features a kitten but there are dogs a plenty too. There are a couple of vets in town. I like Maricopa Animal Hospital right off John Wayne Parkway (next to Penascos Mexican Restaurant.)

Last week my lab ate ibuprofen; my normal emergency vet was pretty backed up so I took him to 1 st Pet Vet on Warner and Alma School. They did an outstanding job and keep you very much in the loop with what is going on. I do think they are more expensive than my normal emergency vet but if you need it, they have different payment options. Hope your dog gets to feeling better!
