WE have a 1978 31' Sovereign also. We stayed at a passport america campground someplace in Texas about 40 miles from the Gulf. It was pretty nice, not much shade, but good electricity, good wifi and good water pressure. We liked it. Goliad Texas. There is also a state park nearby http://www.angelsingoliadrvpark.com/

Are you on gopetfriendly.com? Or their fb page? Dog friendly RV is literally what they do. I'd die without them!
James M. replied:
Big Bend is great. We've been to both in the past few months. For summer if you want trees and a lake, go with Inks Lake. Save Big Bend for spring or fall.

South Llano River State Park in Junction is our favorite! Been camping there for the past 20 years!

Look into any LCRA (Lower Colorado River Authority) camp sites. They are overlooked. We love Black Rock on Lake Buchanan, between Llano and Burnet Texas. We sail there, so it is very convenient for us! There are trees there to help keep you shaded.

Well, that is a bit more problematic. I am thinking that the KOA in Prunedale or Betabel in San Juan Bautista would be good candidates. Marina Dunes might be good in Marina, CA. Carmel by the River in the Carmel Valley might work also. The length of time is the problem for you.

Lori, I'd urge you to check out the OR State parks at any of the beaches. The only problem is they all might be booked but you should call them because there used to be a few first come first served sites but I'm not sure if that is still the case. Also, if you are shout out you might try Newport Marina RV in Newport OR. It's a parking lot on the bay but it's right next door to Rogue Brewery, which does tours and good pub food, the Newport Hatfield Marine Science Museum, and a great little crab shack seafood market just to the S. It's a good place to hang out and do lots.

^^What Mike said about the State Parks^^ Seaside is cool and if you like craft beer at a dog friendly place, Seaside Brewing is good. Further south, we enjoyed the Newport area and stayed at Beverley Beach SP. It's tucked in a little canyon, which gets you out of the wind, but walk 100 yds and your toes are in the sand. BTW, like your puppy pic. Looks familiar.

Camp at Spencer Spit on Orcas, or if you want to stay at/near Anacortes and walk on the ferry to San Juan Islands, you can camp at Deception Pass State Park, or county park in Anacortes called Washington Park. Not sure what size AS you have, as some sites at Washington Park are pretty teeny.
Greg J. replied:
There is a small rv park right at the Keystone Ferry that goes over to Port Townsend (On Whidbey Island) If you drive down from Aacortes, you don't need a ferry to get on the Island. When taking the Keystone Ferry, we saw the campsites, and it looked fun to be able to camp there and watch the ferries. I found this site when looking for it. http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/washington/coupeville
