A couple of years ago hubby & I stayed at Casa Lucila Boutique Hotel for our anniversary and it was so beautiful. It is not on the beach, but right in front of it. It's also a super short walk from all the things you'd want to do in the Historic Center. If you are looking to scape the city, though. We also liked the Riu Emerald Bay, when we stayed we were pretty much the only ones! The food is good, and -at least when we went- the environment was very relaxing. ETA: Personally I wouldn't go through a travel agent. I always scout trip advisor & expedia for deals and do my own reservations online before, and I usually get pretty good deals.
