Advanced Chiropratic in W. Salem they are fantastic and can’t come more highly recommended. Been my chiropractor for 16+ years. Never long waiting periods, they usually keep a couple of spots open for emergencies.
Need to swap ideas! One yr ago, my 14 yr old gelding came up lame in back right thigh ..Vet and chiropractor checked and ? torn ligament...now skin in that area...

If this was my horse, I would get a bucket of warm water with some Epsom Salt in it soak it with a rag twice a day, dry it with a soft towel and put some Bag Balm on it. Epsom Salt is good at healing sore muscles and will take care of any infection that is in the skin, a old time remedy that really works great,,, give it a try and good luck:)
Rena G. replied:
I, like everyone will be interested in what the vet says. The Epsom Salt & Bag Balm is a great treatment but this looks like it might need to be approached differently. It won't hurt your horse though. Best of luck & keep us posted.

What about a tea tree oil wash? 'Healing Tree brand, Tea-Clenz for Equines. Topical concentrate, used for Ringworm, Rain Scald, Rain Rot and Sweet Itch. Veterinary formula, it's an Equine Anti-Microbial Concentrate'. www.healing-tree.com. I used it as a wash on a fungus on my horse's saddle sore and cinch area. Worked great!

Dr Anderson is wonderful. I work with him at his office on Evans. He is conservative in his work and gentle. If you tell him you have reservations about Chiropractic work, he will hear you and make you feel comfortable. If he thinks your pain is beyond his help he'll refer you to someone who can help. Great guy. I haven't been to Dr Lanning myself but that is who Dr Anderson sends his patients to when he is out if town. They're friends. So, I'm sure you can't go wrong with either one. Also, he doesn't "string" you along, using your insurance coverage as a cash cow like some do. When you've progressed he will taper down appts and eventually release you from his care. He isn't one to make you believe you need adjustments 2 times a week for 6 months. The office number is 503-434-9002 hope you feel better soon! I'm sure it won't take long for you since you are very active. He can give you ideas on how to strengthen and stretch certain muscles so you can get better faster too.
