Does anyone have a recommendation for a good tailor in the Media area? I have a bridesmaid dress that needs to be altered quite a bit. Thanks in advance!

Media Dry Cleaners in Media at 5 Points. She is fabulous and very reasonably priced. Our daughter was living in UK and came home for a wedding. She had three layers to hem and had to take in each side about an inch. Had it done in a day and a half and it fit like a glove. Would totally recommend her!!

Susan S. replied:
See link above. The timebank, sponsored (if that's the right word) by Transition Town Media, allows people to contribute hours to help others by doing something they are good at that other people might need. For example, you need somebody who can sew/repair clothes. You might have a skill that somebody else needs, like cooking or computer tech skills or whatever. If I understand correctly, you don't need to directly swap skills with one person; you could donate hours doing something that are equal to the hours somebody else spends sewing for you. I believe Transition Town Media has a group/page on FB; you can learn more there.

Kerry B. replied:
If just a hem...Local dry cleaner? Many of them have seamstresses and a small fitting room and will pin for you (bring your shoes for correct height!). Actually, they pulled in bodice for me, too. It will cost more if more than one layer but you can call around to get general price! I think I went near work (West Chester) but my sister went to Stella Dry Cleaner in Newtown Square/Edgmont.
