My FIL has been going to Acupuncture and Wellness Center off Martin Rd. I'll find out if they'd recommend it.

Is she looking to treat a specific condition? I've heard of Dr Neely of Neely Acupuncture. I can't recall if it was glowingly positive, or just "he's good".
Has anyone visited and acupuncture specialist here in Memphis that they would recommend?

Purely anecdotal. The philosophy behind acupuncture/acupressure is based off the belief that an obstruction in the flow of chi(energy) along certain meridians(pathways of chi) in the body is what causes pain and imbalance. Like most traditional Chinese medicine, it’s steeped in pseudoscience. You would be better off receiving regular massage and talking to your doctor or a nutritionist about incorporating foods in your diet that help reduce inflammation and support joint health.

So here is my total anecdotal experience with acupuncture. I won a free spa treatment on the cruise.
Afterwards I was talking to one of the staff that I was glad I didn't win the acupuncture because I don't like needles. She goes into this whole long thing about how they aren't the same and does this analysis and asks if I would like to try one. So she goes and gets a single needle and sticks it in my arm and keeps on yammering. Well at this point, I need to sit down as I'm feeling a bit flush. She assists me and has someone get a wet towel and some water. I didn't pass out or anything but she removed it and said she has never seen someone have an experience like that before.
As I am about to depart I ask her based on the location of the acupuncture, what is its intended benefits. To which she said it was to stimulate the intestines to promote better digestion.
I went back to my room and had to take a dump. While I can't be sure it was part of the single needle, power of suggestion, or the excitement of the cruise, I thought this story would be fun to share.
tl;dr - No local recommendation but I pooped after my first acupuncture.

Acupuncture is the only thing that would break my migraines. Normal meds wouldn’t work. I used Neely Center for Health. Nice guy but pushy on supplements.

Dr. Ly on Governors Dr is who I've heard about for years. Acupuncture doesn't have any empirical backing for effectiveness but if it works, who cares? If taking a sugar pill makes my pain go away then please give me the sugar pill.
