The rescue usually has an annual chinchilla health day in February, and this is at Adobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos. Their staff is very knowledgeable, and they are great. In a pinch, I've also taken mine to Bishop Ranch in San Ramon (just past Stoneridge really). Unfortunately the vets I've met in Union City and Fremont are not knowledgeable, and one in particular couldn't even tell me the sex (and I ended up with babies)

I know Adobe is recommended, but only reason I ask is that anytime Chili Bean is put in a carrier for travel reasons it stresses her out badly. So would like to limit it as much as possible. Although I guess I will have to take here down there for a Pet Adoption soon anyway for a "partner" choosing of her choice...

I would also email webmaster@chinchillarescue.org for a list of vetrinarians, as their website suggests perhaps? Just a thought. :- )

Dr. Turner at Arbor Pet in Lodi or Dr. Koski at Northgate Vet in Manteca. Both accept Care Credit so you can make payments

saw this comment on another page: The VCA Clinics (Nationwide) were allowing free boarding to the tornado victims with pets. They might help with fostering. If you don't have one there, I can check with them here in Tulsa. There's quite a few here. Probably one in Springfield. someone posted there is not one in springfield, so if not, maybe Tulsa can help

Tena Coulter Rico, try checking with your vet. They might have contact with a rescue group that would be willing to help. Especially with his story.
