We go to Richmond Pediatric Associates. We've seen a lot of the doctors and they are all very nice. http://www.richmondpediatrics.com
We go to Chester Pediatrics, Dr Kevin Campbell is awesome! But it would be a drive to get there

Pediatric Associates of Richmond is great! They also have Saturday sick hours which comes in handy. I went there growing up and Amelia goes there now.
Jaclyn M. replied:
I go to Dr. Carrilynn Sykes
Jessica J. replied:
We see Erin Chui at Pediatric Associates of Richmond. We love her and they have 2 offices. One on Three Chopt and one off Bell Creek in Mechanicsville.
Janet B. replied:
Izzy see Melani DeSilva at va Peds- same practice as Dr. Christian. We LOVE her but chose the practice initially because of the weekend hours. You don't realize how important that is until you have a week old baby that won't eat and it's Saturday. Every day is an eternity in those cases and Kid Med costs more and they won't have baby's records.
Sarah M. replied:
Richmond Pediatric Associates. Carly sees Dr.LaRosa and she is absolutely wonderful!
Melody S. replied:
We loved Pediatric Associate of Richmond. Dr. Melinda Penn was the girls' PCP and she is awesome. I never saw any doctor in there, though, that I didn't like a lot. Dr. Anorako was named Richmond's top doc at least once. Great practice. They have an office in the Bell Creek area and one in the West End.
Melody S. replied:
Here is their website, in case you are interested. http://pedassocrichmond.com
Dianna P. replied:
I took Robbie to Richmond Pediatric Associates, Dr. David Arkin as well as Dr. Terry. Loved Dr. Terry. Be sure to interview and it will be your feel and you will know. heart emoticon
I am looking for a Great Pediatrician around here....Does anyone know of one that they highly love/like...I would like to find one that has time to answer your questions...
Jason B. replied:
Dr. Harrington at Chesterfield Pediatrics...expert in a couple fields such as allergies. She is awesome and even her Nurse Practitioner Lauren Etz is someone we trust and rely on. She is very knowledgeable too. They both will sit with you and talk to you and not at you. Her office is right behind Bonefish on Hull St.
Jaclyn M. replied:
Dr Sykes at Pediatric Associates
Kimberly R. replied:
Pediatric Associates Waterford location (in brandermill) have the most amazing doctors and nurses..some have also been voted best in Richmond in magazines and etc! Dr. Tim o'Neil is my son's Dr and has been absolutely amazing! I've been able to call when he's sick and they've been able to.get him in that day! Kimberly C. replied:
I had a really bad experience with Dr Harrington. My daughter was two yrs old at the time. She had an ear infection and was given amoxicillin. She was swollen up and broke out in hives. Had to take her to the E.R. not even three months later she got another one. Dr Harrington was who we had to see. I told her what happened and she told me that most kids that think they are allergic to Amoxicillin really aren't and she was going to put her on it again. After her saying that I questioned it she said she was the doctor and she knew what was best. I got my daughter up and we walked out. Dr. Bones was her primary Dr. But I changed pedestrians because I wasn't going to put her through that again. It honestly scared me to death.
Nicole C. replied:

My son and daughter both see Dr Ayers - as a matter of fact my daughter just went in for a well check up (she's 17) and he spent over 30 minutes answering all our questions - we do request Dr Ayers when we go in- He has also contacted me days after a sickness to check in on my kids calling me personally- LOVE Dr Ayers -he has seen my son who is now 6 since birth and my daughter since we moved to the area 7 years ago

Dr. Seliskar at Pediatric & Adolescent Health Partners794-2821, we have been happy for 14+ years
I just moved here a couple of months ago and I need to find a good pediatrician. Any recommendations for a good one in the West End area? Before we moved here my son was...
Adina N. replied:
We see Dr Sutherland at Associated in Pediatrics (Nuckols & Shady Grove)...love her! Not sure about SPD, but they could always recommend if not! Good luck & welcome to RIC!
http://pahpartners.com/m/our-doctors/. Dr Seliskar gets sensory issues. Not in west end but worth driving for a good doc.
Lara R. replied:
Dr Terry at Va Peds. We've seen all others there as well and love them all.
Jennifer F. replied:
Our ped office is Pediatric Assoc of Richmond. LOVE them. That being said, there is one doc in particular I will not go back to after my request for a dye free antibiotic was ignored (you would have thought I had asked him to make penicillin in his office). I won't say the name on here (feel free to message me if this is a concern for you and would like to avoid this doc). My son goes to Esther Bucher for his SPD. She's wonderful but she's in Mechanicsville so it would be about a 30-40 minute drive for you depending on traffic. I like that I can go to her rather than her coming to me like most OTs. Too much chaos here!!
Stephanie W. replied:
Try Dr. Shreve at Pediatric Associates. I switched to them when I felt my concerns were not taken seriously at another group. I think he is wonderful. We've been there 7 years now.
Karen W. replied:
I'm with Adina, we love Dr Sutherland at Pediatric Associates on Nuckols!
Bonnie H. replied:

Lisa M. replied:
Another fan of Pediatric Associates of Richmond. We go to the Three Chopt offices, favorite docs, in order are: Dr. Snead, Dr. Nelson, Dr. Mapp, Dr. Shreve, Dr. Andrako and Dr. Weber -- Dr. Snead caught my daughters CHDs at her 2 month appointment, and he stayed with another one of my daughters when she was having a severe asthma attack in the office, my middle daughter had just been born by c/s and he did EVERYTHING in his power to help us avoid having to take my oldest daughter to the ER, because he knew I needed to be home with the new baby, recovering and he did not want the new baby near the germs in the hospital. He told me the next day was his day off, but he'd have someone check in on us to make sure she made it through the night w/o a visit to the ER. HE himself called me on his day off to check on her... this after staying WELL past office closing the night before, to take care of my girl. His care for my children has been 100% amazing. I cannot say enough good about him! He's snarky and goofy, but you just have to know that is his personality! He also took me VERY seriously when I told him about some concerns with my youngest child. He set up an appointment for us with MCV's Pediatric Neurology department and because of that, my daughter's tethered cord was found and she had one of the best Neurosurgeons successfully operate on her in November 2012. Truly, I'll be lost if he retires before my kids are 18! Thankfully, I think we have some time! ;)
Michelle B. replied:
Love the Drs and all the staff at Pediatric Associates of Richmond- Dr. Shreve is who our kids see. He's awesome! Dr. Snead is too!
Alexandra I. replied:
I think interviewing pediatricians is a great way to go and you can ask them what they think and how they treat SPD. You just call the practice and make an appt to talk to a doctor to see if they are a good fit. I personally would go with a smaller practice because then you see your doctor ever time who knows your family and your unique circumstances even if it's "just a sick visit." We go to West End Pediatrics at the corner of Gaskins and Patterson (9600 Patterson Ave). My husband (Scott Iwashyna) is a pediatrician there and he's great with kids with special needs. We actually see Dr. Colley because it let's my husband be the dad and not the doctor, but he chose this practice because it let him develop strong relationships with his families who have his cell phone number. He's even made house calls! Anyway, whomever you chose, remember that they are supposed to be on your team, and if you feel dismissed, talk to your doctor or change your doctor. The most important thing is that your family is getting the support y'all deserve and all pediatricians believe that but not all are going to be the right fit for every family. Welcome to Richmond!
Angela V. replied:
We go to Pediatric Associates of Richmond (corner of Patterson and Three Chopt) and have been by pleased. Very flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) and always willing to help direct you for after hours care (which we have taken advantage of more times than we wish!). They have lactation consultants on staff which made a huge difference for our family in the beginning.
Lisa P. replied:
I have also been going to Pediatric Associates of Richmond since we moved here in 2005. Great staff. Never an issue getting in. Have Saturday morning emergency appts. Awesome doctors.

We've been really pleased with Pediatric Associates of Richmond. We see Dr. Andrako, but my experience with the entire staff (and physicians on call) have been excellent. They also have lactation consultants for nursing moms.
Jennifer T. replied:
We go to VA Pediatrics (Overton, Wiley, Kirchmier, Terry & Rowe) at 10410 Ridgefield Pkwy. We see Dr. Heyman and love it there.
I'm an expecting momma and would greatly appreciate recommendations for pediatricians in the Chesterfield/Midlothian area. I live in Bon Air and would like something...
Stacie P. replied:
Huegunot pediatrics ... Dr Kancitis is ours, love her. Dr grossburg is wonderful too! Great office staff too.
Niki R. replied:
We just switched to Chesterfield pediatrics due our pediatrician Dr. Sylvia Lee moving. She is AMAZING! I went through a different pediatrician, after mu son was first born, recommended by my lactation consultant, and was sadly disappointed. We then got recommendation from a friend for Dr. Lee. She is extremely thorough and she has that bedside manner a lot of new moms, like myself, need. Love her!
India L. replied:
I have a special needs son so I had to choose an excellent pediatric office. My son is 17 months and has had 13 brain surgeries due to Acquired Hydrocephalus (he was born 11 weeks early). We LOVE Dr. Powell http://pedassocrichmond.com/about-us/our-staff/#staff-246 I'm not sure how far the offices are from you but for us it's a 40 min drive and worth every minute! They have introductory meet and greet nights for expecting families so call them and see what they are like.
Jamie J. replied:

Ashley K. replied:
James River peds. Dr. Zachary and Dr. Burgett. The nurses are great too! Our whole family goes here all ten kids. ( 3 are mine the rest are cousins) We went to Huguenot Ped and switched because the nurses were very snotty, but that was 8 yrs ago.
Rebecca Y. replied:
Was about to also write Huguenot Pediatrics. See Dr. Grossberg, but all the doctors and nurses are fabulous!
Erin V. replied:
We LOVE Dr. Rowe with Virginia Peds. He is always ready to help out and I never feel rushed with him. They have 3 offices in Richmond, but closest to you would be Summmerville near 288 and Midlothian Tnpk.

Casandra Q. replied:
MCV has its issues but I absolutely love Dr. Sean McKenna and Dr. Suzanne Appleton. very personable, understanding, and easy to get ahold of!!! I emailed Dr. McKenna this AM and he's responded twice! I will admit im not a huge fan of the practice but the Drs there have my vote!!!

Melissa B. replied:
RVA Peds. Dr. Terry is so warm and has amazing bedside manner. He's just a joy to see. He's easy to talk to and really listens to any concerns we may have. No matter how silly they may be.
Melissa B. replied:
Oh and let's be real a lot of times you're seeing the doc for sick visits and not necessarily your actual doctor, RVA Peds has the best NPs and I've also been happy with all of the Drs we've seen. We go to the Somerville office which is just east of 288 off Midlothian Tpk.
Leslie H. replied:
We love Dr. Mason I switched to him when my son was a baby. He actually picked him up and and my son took to him. He is now three and likes to play that he is Dr. Mason. He even goes willing to the doctor's now. He listened to my concerns and never makes me feel like I am over reacting. http://pahpartners.com/m/
Christina H. replied:
We like Huguenot Pediatrics. Dr. Grossburg is straight-forward and doesn't sugar-coat things, so as long as you're ok with that... ;) A few of my friends don't like her for that reason, but all of the doctors there are great.
So I have to find a new PCP for Justin and myself and a new pediatrician for Noah. Both have to be woth Bonus Secours , anyone love who they go to at St. Francis?
Beverly T. replied:
Dr David Taminger at VA family physicans. His office is near the kitchen
Moving across town to Woodlake in Midlothian and I need to find a new pediatrician for my 2-yr-old and 3-month-old preemie. I'd love someone who is...
Teresa P. replied:
Dr. Polanshek at Chester Pediatrics is amazing. The invincia location would be closer to you. The number is 748-9090.
Jennifer H. replied:
We see Dr Clark at Woodlake Pediatrics. It's actually in Woodlake. She is wonderful!
Anne H. replied:
I was actually disappointed by the invincia location of Chester Peds, but we saw Dr. Shayne. The deal breaker for me was as we were leaving, one of the nurses took a smoke break in her scrubs, which I found really gross after coming from a hospital system in which smoking was completely off-limits, at least while at work.
Pam S. replied:
Dr. Rowe. Sommerville office . Hands down the best.
Stephanie E. replied:
Dr pastori - Pediatrics Assoc. - they are great. I have a preemie as well - they have been awesome! Off Old Hundred Rd. 804-794-7788
Jessica G. replied:
Not sure how far he is but Peter Blakey at pahp has been the first ped I've found the really use a holistic approach. When I told him I gave my son cod liver foil, he knew the recommended dosage instead of looked at me like I had 5 heads:)
Janine O. replied:
Dr Blakey is very holistic and a cool guy. I love PAHP
Does anyone know of a pediatricians office that's open on Sundays? Around mechanicsville/vcc/ashland or Richmond area. Please let me know
India L. replied:
http://pedassocrichmond.com/ they are not usually open Sundays but they will open the office if their patients need them. Like right now during flu season I think they have been open on the weekends quite a bit. They would rather their patients see them then go to an urgent care so they do what needs to bee done to take care of them. We have always been able to get an appointment when we needed and so many of the docs are wonderful!
