(inexpensive) rabbit veterinarian recommendations? A few months ago I found a stray baby domestic rabbit. Called shelters and put up posters to try and find his owners,...

You might call SPCA or RACC for their thoughts--

Locke Taylor on Woodman has a vet who does exotics- Dr Greenwald I believe. Last time I was there, I saw a piglet, a macaw, and a 20’ boa constrictor in and out, so I’m quite certain a rabbit is manageable! They’re also very reasonably priced. About half what I end up spending anywhere else.

Rabbits are considered exotics, so many vets don't see them or don't have much experience with them. Wellesley sees bunnies and is excellent, but not cheap, so that doesn't help but so much (though if you call they will give you a price over the phone). I agree that RACC might have suggestions for you!

I used Dr. Mays at the VCA Pets First clinic on Staples Mill for my rabbit after switching from Lakeside Animal Hospital because they were too expensive. Dr. Mays was good with my little guy Homer, who lived to 14 despite being a deaf adrenaline junkie with cancer.

While they don't do regular check ups, Prevent-a-Litter in Carytown neuters/spays rabbits for $60/90 respectively if I remember correctly, which was way better than the $600 the other vets in town were quoting. I've had both my rabbits snipped at PAL with zero issues and their staff is great.

We have a rabbit and did a ton of research when we were picking a vet because rabbits are so fragile! Wellesley Animal Hospital has vets that see rabbits and we’ve been bringing ours there for about 3 years. We’ve only had great experiences there! Their vets and techs are SO great about explaining things and answering questions. Can’t remember how much the exam is, but I have a detailed bill from our last visit somewhere. I’ll find it in the morning and let you know.

I know lakeside animal hospital does rats, one of the few vets that do, you might check there.

Hey! A little late to respond, but I use Jolly Pond in Williamsburg. It’s worth the drive for me since Dr. Brown knows bunnies.
