To qualify for childcare assistance, you must either be working or be a student. The cost weekly is rather low from what I know. There's a catch that makes it difficult. One needs daycare in order to be able to work and/or attend classes, but they want you be working or be a student already in order to even apply and qualify for daycare assistance. If there is no proof of income or being enrolled in college, they won't do anything to help. That is for the ELC. Headstart is a different story. It's need based and they require you to fill out an application and do an interview at T.R Jackson in Milton.

I don't know any private sitters unfortunately I've had family help out while I worked nights, etc. I would join the group "Navarre Mommies" on here. They could certainly point you in the right direction and possibly arrange something affordable. I'd also try to apply for childcare assistance through the ELC. Funding may be available. One must be working or be a student. I wish I knew about the student deal. Someone there told me over the phone that students didn't qualify and that my hours worked weren't enough. I was attending college full time and could have received the assistance the whole time. That being said, I would go in there and speak to someone face to face because misinformation can be given. Here is the link for the ELC. http://www.elcsantarosa.com/ccrr.htm

Also the Early Learning Coalition helps with daycare. Their number is 850-983-5313 that is the Milton office. There is an office in Gulf Breeze also, that number is 850-916-5424.

No the ELC helps with daycare. I have had infants that have been thru ELC. They do preschool and I believe that is only for 4 year olds. Bit they do help with daycare also. Call TR Jackson School. They take 2 year olds and up there for preschool/headstart.
My beautiful son has , since he walked at age 8 months, talked loud in cave man like syllables, mastered toys and games in seconds, been sensitive to light, loud noises...

The Pre-k class at Berryhill Elementary is wonderful. My son was with Mrs. Mary and her crew for 3 years. He then went to SS Dixon Primary and is now at Berryhill in a "regular" classroom full time. We have been blessed with the most wonderful teachers. He goes to summer camp Phoenix Learning Academy in the summer. Dr. Mahaffey is our pediatrician. We have been blessed beyond measure.

Dr Haggerot is in Pace and is a child neuropsychologist that we recently saw (required to by APD) and she was excellent. She had scheduled us a 2 hour session and in 15 min saw enough to give us a diagnosis. (We already had one, but needed a "sanctioned" one for APD)
