Holy shit this is my jam! Hub Hobby is awesome, they have tons of stuff. There's also microcenter and aei, I visit all these stores at least once every couple weeks (I'm and engineering student)

Microcenter off of 100. I've never been there but I've never heard anything but praise from those who went.

Honestly, a lot of people are saying ax man, but in my experience if you are looking for anythin specific at all, its usually unlikely you'll find it. I think ABC is probably the most likely. If you can be more specific about what kind of cord you need, you might get more help. A lot of things don't really require any specific type of cord.

Hub Hobby near 66 th and Penn in Richfield (though more of a toy store). Some small Minneapolis hardware stores may be able to help you. Try Guse Hardware at 46 th and Bryant, Ace Nicollet at 38 th and Nicollet, or Bryant Hardware at 36 th and Bryant. All have helpful, knowledgeable employees.

Digikey has pictures for just about everything. Or You could just Google your part model and see if you could order a replacement part or what it looks like.

You could try Free Geek too (at 26 th ave and 26 th St. S). www.freegeektwincities.org They might not have what you need in stock, but they recycle electronics and might have something to be dissembled that will have what you need. Also a staffer might be able to offer you pointers on the project.

I agree with some of the others, Microcenter in St Louis Park off of 100 is your best bet.
