Hi Becky. Welcome to Richfield! Although it is not a kennel, www.rover.com is a good place to look up dog-sitters in your area. We dog-sit through rover so feel free to pm me if you have questions.

I'd avoid Lucky Dog in Bloomington; high cost, low quality.

Our pup goes to Woof Dah in Burnsville... Not too far depending on where you work and a really great place!

Jessica Reutiman is the dog whisperer. She watches dogs out of her home and I believe she makes house calls too.
Anybody have recommendations for a dog sitter, or a boarding place for two dogs over the holiday season?
Ray M. replied:
Did you check with Kim Rinde at Kim's Critter Carehttps://www.facebook.com/kimscrittercare1
Kim K. replied:
Hi Troy, I may be interested in caring for your pets. I have Kim's Dog Kair, dog & cat grooming shop over on 44 th & Girard. I also offer boarding to some of my clients. Typically I have their pets stay at my house. However I am already full at home for the remainder of Dec. If it would work for you & your pets, I could care for them while they remain at your home! Give me a call if you need anything. 612-385-1434wwwkimsdogkair.com

I went through Rover.com and found a great dog-friendly couple with a huge fenced in yard and a few other dogs in Dayton. They met me and my dog (with their dogs) at a dog park to make sure they all would get along first. They sent me photo updates, and I loved knowing my furbaby was in a home, not in a kennel however big - he's super anxious, but did well. Message me if you want their contact info.

I use Rock Star dog walking and pet sitting. I can't say enough good things about the guy that has taken care of my dogs when I have been away. Licensed and bonded. My dogs go on field trips and I get pix by text while I am gone. Also daily reports. I think they are like, $60 a day for staying at your house. Here is their website: http://www.rockstardogwalking.com/

I have a friend stay with my boys when I travel. He's always happy to come hang out with them. I like the idea of a vet tech who is going to school though. I have a friend who rents a room to vet techs that go to UC Davis, she said she gives them a discount for watching the dogs when she is out of town, and they are always happy to do it.
Cindy L. replied:
Candy I have an awesome retired lady who comes to my house because we too have never boarded our girls. Maybe you could call me later this evening and I could ask you a few questions as to their care so I could talk to her. My last person is a vet student at the U and is just to busy these days!! 612-701-4617
