Most small to mid-sized brokerage houses in Missoula will have highly experienced listing Realtors and/or agents. I recommend that you interview multiple Realtors before you hire someone. Don’t jump at the first person who promises you the moon and the stars - this is a sales-driven business.
I would like to add some general information on the subject - I agree with the other post that because housing inventory is currently low in Missoula, it is a seller’s market. But I would advise against selling a home yourself if you don’t have at least some experience buying or selling real estate.
As a seller, you’re likely going to pay a buyer’s agent a commission, who will be negotiating against you and whose fiduciary duty is not to you, but to his or her client.
Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor have flattened market intelligence, which is a huge benefit to buyers and sellers in terms of pricing. The value add of a good Realtor or agent is that they will negotiate in your interest, maximize the value of your home as a seller (or credits as a buyer), and help you navigate issues when they arise. FSBO can oftentimes be penny wise and pound foolish.
A good Realtor will get you to closing. Sometimes it can be an easy, painless process. In other instances, closing a sale can be extremely difficult and costly if you don’t have an advocate in your corner.
Full disclosure: I’m writing as a Realtor, but I would gladly provide some further insights or information if anyone in the thread has questions. (I hope this doesn’t constitute as spam, I genuinely care about this subject.)

Realtors are basically gloried used car salesmen. Sell it FSBO and pocket the 15 grand you saved.

Leland Reed with Engel & Volkers is the absolute best. Goes above and beyond for anyone and anything. We used her for our house, then my parents used her for their house in Missoula and a condo on flathead, then my sister in law and a friend of mine both used her! The absolute best.

I was very impressed with Matt Rosbarsky at Clark Fork Realty. My SO worked with him both for buying and selling his condo. And he is now working with him on a potential land purchase.

I don’t think you’d need a realtor. It’s a seller’s market right now.

Sandy ‘Mo’ Adkins at Berkshire Hathaway does good work. Though I’m not sure how much time she spends in Missoula vs the bitterroot.

Find a photographer; pay them a few hundred bucks for some quality images of the property. Send those out to all the agents recommended in this thread and post it where you can for free like Craigslist. Word gets out quick and many buyers are currently putting in bids with escalators leading to homes selling well over asking price. No seller fees on your side; title company and buyers agent should be able to cover closing logistics.

Sellers market - you can list it yourself on Zillow, take some photos, make a simple website on squarespace or similar, and hire an attorney. You could pocket another $20K easily if the house is going to sell for $400K. Sure it will be some work but figure out how much time your is worth and work backwards from there.
Update: What do you have to lose by posting it to Zillow and putting some feelers out there? [https://www.zillow.com/for-sale-by-owner/](https://www.zillow.com/for-sale-by-owner/)
I find it interesting how people are so quick to recommend their amazing/best Realtor when in reality most Americans will have 3 or fewer real estate transactions in their lifetime to compare their performance against. Beware of raving reviews. Look instead at the Realtors performance instead of reviews. It's like Doctors and Dentists, everyone wants you to have the same one they have some odd reason but how many different ones did they actually try before settling on the one they are with now?
The problem with Relators is the compensation model is outdated. Realators are incentivized to close, not get top dollar for you offer. Another $10K in the selling price only nets them an additional $300 after they split their commission with their brokers and buyers agent - and thats before taxes! So why would they advise you to hold our for a better offer, they just want it sold. The market is tight right now, if you are trying to buy you need to have a agent and be knocking on doors and making phones calls. If you are selling you just need to put the word out there and prepare to do some work. Houses are selling to buyers out of state sight unseen. Hire a photographer, take some videos, list it up and have any local attorney help draw up a buy-sell agreement.

Some big name realtors around town are too busy to do the job right, and houses are easy enough to sell here they take on lots at once. We really liked this family realtor: [https://www.realtor.com/realestateagents/liz-rogers\_missoula\_mt\_1857031](https://www.realtor.com/realestateagents/liz-rogers_missoula_mt_1857031)

I have worked with two realtors in the past 5 years when I purchased two properties. Both experiences were negative. I’ve heard positive things about Curtis Real Estate—especially the fact that they charge reduced fees. I’m sure selling off-peak real estate season might yield a more positive experience. https://www.mtcurtis.com
