I need info about a vet in the Theodore area that participates in the medicade program for fixing cats. Can a cat be fixed while nursing?
Becky D. replied:
Theodore vet hospital does it...but the state changed the program so you have to apply for it thru the vet office and when they get a conf its a go w/a discounted co pay. T.V H says they haven't heard back from state prog since may..prolly has to do with our governor/state budget issues.
I adopted a 10 week old female kitten. She needs her shots and possibly some flea medicine. Wondering how much I'm looking to spend going to a regular vet clinic OR if...

You can go to www.projectcatsnip.com and make a reservation to get her spayed. For the spay and a rabies shot it is $68. They will help pay some if you need it also. Good luck!

Cynthia W. replied:
Ark Animal Clinic...342-2956. They are awesome.
Gae C. replied:
Oh yes. Dr Courtney. This is Bit and Spur vet yes? Not Heart of Dixie.?
Erin D. replied:
Dr Joe Long, Moffet Rd Vet Clinic repaired Muffin's torn ACL in late July. She is totally recovered and running, walking without any probs. Also, he is less expensive than any vet here- $800, total cost.

Missy Z. replied:
Dr Smith@George County Vet. They are wonderful. And cheap.
Andrea M. replied:
I absolutely love Andy Duke and Duke Animal Hospital on Schillinger. He's wonderful!
Angie Y. replied:
George county vet. Is cheaper than any in mobile and he is good. We use him. Dr Carl Smith.
George Y. replied:
Dr Smith lucedale the best around
Melanie A. replied:
Lucedale/George County Vet. Same place. 601-947-1976. Awesome people and CHEAP!!!! Even when you have to pay. We have been going there for about 2 years. When we had to put MaKensey's 6 month old kitten to sleep due to an acute terminal illness, they quoted $35.00. This was half of what any vet in Mobile quoted. The most heart breaking experience that you could ever imagine for a 10 year old child to experience with their pet, was made very special and memorable by the whole staff. Then as we left and Mark went to pay, they would not even take our money.
Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian that's reasonably priced? I think my cat may be allergic to fleas. :(
Teresa M. replied:
I don't know how much it costs, but Duke Animal Clinic is where I used to go. He's an old family friend. He knows the McCann family all too well.
Laurie G. replied:
I use Dr. Wesson at Wesson animal clinic. When I had to put my baby to sleep he was great- love him. And my sister- in- law works there. However I think the prices might be up there. Not sure
Lesley H. replied:
I use Loop Veterinary Hospital on Government street. They are very reasonable from a price standpoint. I don't know the prices of Irby-Overton and Wesson who are mentioned above but both vets support my animal ministry group at church and just for that...I would use them if I needed a new vet.
Mary H. replied:
Spay and Neuter on Springhill. They have saved me a TON of money and the doctor is really nice.
Connie T. replied:
Dr Greer mobile animal hospital right next to Alabama power. I just got both my cats spayed and neutered there for 135 bucks
Richard S. replied:
We use Scott Owens in Semmes. Great people!!
Pam P. replied:
I love our vet! The Pet Doctor in Theodore. Very reasonable. We have a 16 year old cat, 15 year old dog and 10 year old Dog
Does anyone know of a good vet that is not going to break my bank account?? I'm not sure what happened to Faith but she can not put any weight on her left back leg plus...

Trish T. replied:
There is a TLC vet on Snow Road that may be worth checking. I know of one considerable saving from there just last week. I'll double check the name real quick.
Emily A. replied:
I love my vet at Theodore Vet on Hwy 90.
Meagan B. replied:
I have heard TLC is good. I take mine to Theodore Vet. Hospital!
Dawn A. replied:
Lucedale is the cheapest and they are really good. My neighbor uses them. I use Dukes Animal on schillingers . They re reasonable too. I see Dr mims
Rebecca G. replied:
Be careful if you use TLC I took my Labrador there and they said that he had a blockage and told me to give him caster oil to help it move. That cost 230.00 when the oil didn't work I took him back they said the surgery would be a couple thousand dollars or we could put him down. My kids were so upset we couldn't afford the surgery. We almost had him euthanized but a friend told me about Dr. Karl Smith we took him there (with TLC telling us that he was a quack and we shouldn't) to find out he was misdiagnosed and his intestines were tied in a knot. The surgery, time in their care, meds and all cost around 100.00. He really cares about animals! Won't take mine anywhere else.
Ellen K. replied:
Chelsee' Hipp I would definitly recommend George County Animal clinic. They are so nice and never do anything that is not necessary. There prices are very good compared to those in Mobile.
Anyone know a good Vet in Mobile? (By "good," I mean one that doesn't just try to get money out of you.)
Pat A. replied:
Kevin TLC on snow rd is cheaper on most things. I would call around and ask what they chg for the services you want. The best to me is great oaks on airport blvd. I have been using Beth Overton over 20 years. She is kind and loving to all animals.
