I have three herniated discs in my neck. I used combination of accupuncture, BEST (bioenergic synchronization technique) and homeopathic shots from the accupuncturistic/MD. I went from severe pain down my arm and neck to bootcamp 3 x a week and that wa s a few years ago. MD/ Accupuncturist (dual trained, western and eastern medicine) is dr Liang Liang in west orange down the street from st barnabas. Hope your daughter feels better.

Go to a pain management practice. I have a lot of experience with disc issues. I see Dr Ciccone at Mt Sinai. It's a trip but worth it. Sports medicine dr are also helpful. Good luck
I've gone to Dr Carter for an epidural for compressed discs. However I have to do continual PT as well as pilates to keep strong in order to stave off another shot.
