I just spent half an hour trying to get reservations for 7 pm - I'm winding up at some place called Gusto Ristorante e Bar Americano but never been/ can't attest. Balthasar great but good luck with reservations......

Ok.. I'll take a stab at it. Two ends of the spectrum, but like them both. Dos Caminos for margaritas, guacamole and chips, tex-mex, and outdoor seating. Good after work crowd, but Saturday May not be as hopping. Other end of the spectrum and a person...See More

I don't really get uptown enough to recommend anything above 14 th st. The only two comedy clubs in midtown are, I think, Gotham on 23 rd and Caroline's near Broadway and 50 ish. The Comedy Cellar in the village may be a bit lowbrow but there's a better chance that someone really famous shows up there to try out material, like Louie CK or Chris Rock.
