Good morning to all,
I am usually not one to post, more of a reader than a writer. But I could use some help. Being relatively new to Chiang Rai I am still looking for...

Deli behind Da Vinci for bread. Lots of coffee around the clock. Destiny cafe has a good blend. Should get you started.

Spar Deli behind Da Vinci's does acclaimed home made bread. Also a hostel on the one way part of JetYod Street does decent loaves and rolls. The Roast contracts local hilltribe producers and roasts in the shop (near Chiang Rai hospital) so just find out what days he is doing them. I've found no good Japanese food in town just the chain store muck. Will check out that recommendation of yours.
Astrid C. replied:
For bread you go to the Deli Shop behind Da Vinci Restaurant, that's a no-brainer
Paul S. replied:
One more vote for deli behind Da Vinci. I buy my coffee online from Hillkoff in Chiang Mai. 190 Baht for 500 grams. French Roast is my favourite. I buy 6-8 bags at a time which adds postage of 160 Baht. They don't accept credit card so you need a Thai bank account to do online transfer. They also sell a lot of coffee machines and equipment. Love my Aeropress.
Thanks all for the replies and many leads to run down. Went to meet Leo at The Deli. Bread is good, wife enhoyes the cinnamon bun. Ill run out of coffee after the weekend and will try out the various leads I got today. Oh and for sure I will go and try that Ramen very soon as well as the bread from Baan Lom Jen.

Baan Lom Jen bakes every Sunday and the sour dough rye is great.
Anyone know where to find/buy vanilla beans here in Chiang Rai? I tried Mai Bakery, but they don't have them, then went to the place the owner suggested to buy them,...

Check out a little hole in the wall herbal Chinese shop (top shelf) across from the old bus station next to or a few doors down from the bakery coffee shop.
