I need some advise! Thinking about moving out been looking at homes in OL campground. I know u lease property there but would u guys advise someone to live there...
Margaret B. replied:
I don't know about that area, but I do have friends that live at Apache Campground in Myrtle Beach and love it.
Eileen K. replied:
I live in Ocean Lakes full time. Your lease depends on where your house is. If you are closer to the beach it is more. If you look on the ocean lakes properties site they have them listed for that house. The MH section also costs more because the lots are larger. Ocean Lakes is quiet in the winter but you must have a sense of humor in the summer. However if you don’t like your neighbors you will have a new set next week. PM me if you have more questions

Thank you Dona Lane... I have lived in Ocean Lakes for 20 years...Everything Eileen Kerr said would be the same thing I would say!! I have never thought about leaving here...It is my home....Have you spoken with anyone that works in properties??? We do have the lot lease and you pay it 2 x a year...I get carried away when I start talking about O.Lakes and obviously after being here for 20 years... I must love it in here!!! I just call it my little *gated community*!!!

If you want something like that Oceanside village might be better. http://www.oceansidevillage.com/why-become-resident.php

Listen to Joanne Burns. I am a part time resident of Surfside. It will be 3 years in January. I bought what will be my retirement home. When I was looking I had these things in mind: 1) I wanted to be within a walking distance to the beach (no more than 2 miles) but on the west side of 17 - due to insurance costs and hurricane and flood concerns 2) I wanted to be close to things I use regularly ( grocery, drug store, etc) 3) I did not want to be too close to neighbors that I have to worry about hearing them often 4) I wanted a reasonable HOA fee that I could still afford in retirement 5) I personally need outdoor space so the more decks the better 6) I did not want to have to do yard work or outside maintanence so I was looking for condo 7) affordable. I easily found my happy place - a 1650 sq ft condo, 3+ bedrooms, 3 baths, 3 decks, with just one shared wall - 1 mile from the beach on the west side of 17 for $97,000. Just make sure you know what is really important to you and then find it. Good Luck!
Quick question does anybody stay in Myrtle Beach Resort Ocean Lakes Campground or Lakewood Campground? Reason asking my tire is flat and I have my car jacked up & all...
Judd S. replied:
$25 service call. I can come take the tire off and put your spare on for you. If your tire is fixable , I can plug tire also at no additional cost. 843 489 2247
