Here's two rental agencies Garden City Realty (800) 395-5930 and Dunes Realty (800) 845-8191. Both rent for Garden City Beach and Surfside Beach. Also we used to stay in a place which is now Dunes Village Resort, which is slightly north of downtown Myrtle Beach. It has quite a few units (used to be smaller when we stayed there) but we loved the location. Haven't stayed there since they remodeled and enlarged it. Check them out though.

Since you're open to the idea of a trailer (at least for now,) Crystal Lake in Surfside may have something available. You get there by turning off Business 17 near the Harley dealership. A friend of mine lives there (with cats) and really likes the community. I've visited and it seems like a peaceful little place. I'm not sure who to call about it, but could ask my friend if you're interested.

The Bermuda Sands is ocean front and accepts Greyhounds. It is old but clean and they are really good about the dogs. They also own a small building next to them but I think it is full.

The affordable family resort is pet friendly..2 nd row. its just beyond Seamiest..we stayed there the year BBH was at LaQuinta...we made reseveration that year at Bermuda Sands but didn't stay there eadnt impressed when I walked in it was dark with a hole in the wall
